Chap 1
Ajax:
I hissed at the countless eyes staring at my presence as I lay kneeling in the corner. I was only 14 when Jaceβs dad found me after I killed my father. I had heard all about the mafia and clearly, my parents were in debt to them leading them to find me here doing their dirty work for them.
βTake him. Get rid of the bodies and clean the boy up, he seems good at what he does.β After that followed a couple of muffled words from the man. He was the godfather of the Skulls, the most infamous gang in the entire city of crime. And my parents so happened to be most in dept to him so much he came to the trenches to exile them.
Later that night I was brought to the mansion where I was forced to stay my entire life. This was the first time I truly felt fear, surrounded by armed men, the place reeking of expensive cigars, and the crippling out-of-place feeling because I was only wearing hanging ripped sheets disguised as clothes. All the men that surrounded me were neatly clothed in suits and clean cuts. Not to mention the slight glances of disgust and lack of remorse on their faces.
In front me was a pair of stairs that mirrored each other and to my surprise at the time, a tall boy came rushing down, his raven black hair bouncing at its fullest although it was short. His smile was wide and full of glee as he came to face me downstairs.
That was my first time meeting Jace, the son of the godfather and soon-to-be Don. I never felt that funny around anyone my age, but when around him my stomach felt like bursting with butterflies. You couldβve seen the blush arise on my dark tanned skin as he hugged me. My fluffed tail burst from me wagging shamelessly in front of his concerned father.
ββ¦Finally a friend.β Wasnβt I a freak? A disgrace and nothing close to a friend. I was a nasty runt barely a rouge. But Jace found my light and that was the only time I saw him truly happy.
