A Little Girl Named Amy

Amy was not your ordinary young girl. Her parents were abusive and she had many a story to tell with many more scars to corroborate. One of the worst instances of abuse she experienced at the hand of the woman who birthed her, was when she was three. Her mother was standing in the doorway of her room watching her play with her dolls. Then, something took over her mother’s spirit. Her mother began slapping her in the face. “MOMMY! MOMMY! WHAT DID I DO! PLEASE MOMMY YOU’RE HURTING ME”! With her daughter pleading, she kept beating and slapping, laughing like a mad woman. She continued to thrash her until she was unconscious. Once she had her fun, she picked up her lifeless body by one leg and threw her in a pile of trash accumulated in the kitchen. Amy finally was awake and remembered hardly anything. All she knew was she hurt all over, she saw red hand prints all over her body and then she remembered, she, being three, forgave her mommy and lay in her lap and whispered in a solum voice, “I still love you, mommy”. Her mother was just waking up from a drinking binge, she had been out drinking with friends while her daughter lay half beaten to death and now starving. She woke up her mother and asked her for something to eat. She grabbed her by the nape of her neck and tossed her off, causing her to collide with the edge of the TV and split her head open just above her right eye. Blood pouring down her face, she asks her mother in a quivering voice trying to choke back tears, not understanding what she did to deserve her mother’s wrath, “Mommy, can I have so….” Before she was able to finish her sentence, her father kicks open the door to their house, the door, a heavy old oak with beautiful carvings, collided with Amy’s arm and broke it in two. She began to let out a shriek. She tries to breathe between cries but the pain was so intense that she was staring at the ceiling with a face of agony that would bring the most hardened to their knees, unable to breathe she starts trying to gasp as she and the stars that signal suffocation go away. Amy had been beaten and broken so badly by this point that her tiny three-year-old body has had enough and she began to convulse, her tiny fingers curled up as she made fists and her entire body goes into shock. As she slips away, she can hear the cackling laugh of her mother, finding amusement in her daughter’s demise. Blackness now. No feeling, no sound, nothingness, this is what Amy has become. Then a spot of light in the distance, the smell of sulfur permeates the air. The tell tail signs of the devil. As the light began to approach she hears a sweet, calming voice unlike any she had heard before, “Don’t worry, you’re ok now,”. As she opened her eyes she had seen what can only be described as Lucifer himself. He looked down upon Amy with a look of sheer empathy. “Don’t worry, darling. I’ll take you to a place you are loved,” said Lucifer with nothing but kindness. “What did I do wrong? All I wanted was something to eat,”. “Don’t think about that now. Come with me Amy,” he said with affection. Amy followed the devil and he led her to where she would never worry about being abused again. Amy was finally happy and safe with people who loved her. She was where she belonged. When Amy was safe and sound in her new home, the devil was enraged. He looked at Amy and thought to himself who could ever hurt such an innocent little girl? As he thought this to himself, he thought of a minacious way to get revenge.
