Survivor
My name is Vanessa and I am the only survivor of a small town called Cullfield. The whole town was wiped out in a single night while I was a baby. I never knew my parents. I never really knew any of my family. I was found on a church doorstep the morning after my family was murdered.
Every person around knows who the murderer is but not one person has seen her. Her name, Mara Greer, has been whispered around me for my entire life. When people see me, they always stop talking. I have never had any friends. In fact, in the town of Ragefall, I am completely alone. I was raised by an old couple who use me to take care of their farm.
Some day, I will find her. I will find the person who took away everything I had. I will get my revenge. Not one person knows where she disappeared to. Not one person has seen her or heard from her. She is completely off the grid. The first place to search, is the small ghost town where so many people lost their lives.
"Girl, get down here right now! It is time for your evening chores." I hear the old hag yell out.
I walk down the stairs and walk through the back door without a word. I have been doing chores since I was a toddler. As I got older, I started to do more and more, I now do everything. I put the animal away and fill up their water containers for the evening. I check to make sure all of the chickens went inside before closing everything up. I then head back to the house.
"You should know what time to start your chores! You are not a child. Grow up and stop acting like a brat!" Said the old hag. I ignore her as I walk back up the stairs. One more night. My birthday is tomorrow. I can leave tomorrow.
I get on my laptop to make sure everything is planned perfectly. Tomorrow I will leave to visit Cullfield. I pack a bag with a few changes of clothes and toiletries. Once I have everything ready, I head to bed early.
