the light defeats the darkness

As light begins to fade, darkness takes its place

my mind falls into despair, and my body fades into that shadow

My eyes turn from a sweet blue to crisp red, as my clothing turns into black, as the sun goes down, eternal night

Along with my life I start to doubt myself, thinking, “What’s wrong with me?”

Someone helped me, that darkness shifts away

The light came back and the sun went up.
