Sweet Coming of Age Story
"The Wolf in the Mist is an enjoyable slow burn (and I can't emphasize slow burn enough!) romance between Sofia and Dave as they discover each other and figure out how to get comfortable in who they are not only to themselves but to each other. Their sweet journey would be great on it's own but there's an added layer of shifters but not like you've ever seen them before. If you're tired of the same old story, these shifters are different...they're animals that can become humans instead of humans that can become animals and that makes all the difference in the world. The mannerisms are spot on. Oh, and did I mention that there are secrets to be revealed? Fabulous world building and I can't wait for the sequel."
Beautiful, Heartwarming Friends to Lovers Story!
"Okay, probably not a lovers yet, but definitely lovers wannabe. Okay so!!! Wow! I manage to finish this in a day, this just shows you how good and addictive the story is! This is a story about Sofia, a domestic werewolf cinanthrope who dreams about having normal life like other human do and try so hard to be normal, but find it challengin when she met a new guy in her school, Dave, who is a cinanthrope who likes to embraces his true nature as a werewolf. Now, after getting to know him more, will Sofia still keen to pursuing the normal life she thought she wanted or a wild-free life with her enchanting, kind, perfect, male-best friend? I am a suckeeerrr for friends to lovers story! This is definitely one of the best trope for me! I enjoy the slow burns, the relationship that the author build by build to emphasize the deep connection that Sofia and Dave has. Reading this will definitely show you how deep they care for each other, it is so beyond physical attraction, there is a real affections there between the two of them, and what they have is special. Like many friend to lovers story, of course there is the attraction, the confusion, the fear, and the doubt to pursue their relationship more. Kalyan describes the story in such a detailed, profound way that makes this two characters feels so real, as if they are real person with real feelings. I know it is a story about a werewolf, but do not let this disencouraged you. For those who do not read fantasy/paranormal but love romance genre, you will totally love this. You get more than what you bargain for, a friendship, a coming of age story, and a beautiful tale of two people that find each other in this big, wide, world. Maybe what kind of puzzled me is the fact that this story is actually a prequel, which means, if we want to have a HEA for Sofia and Dave, there is another story, cause this story is just the beginning. I am fine with that I just did not see that coming as I was sooooo waiting for their happily ever after! If you read it you will know, you will just dieeeeee to wait for them to confess their feelings and have their HEA! But I am glad with the ending. At least, Sofia now on a step to embraces her true nature as a she-wolf. Very highly entertaining. I am looking for the next book! Good job Kalyan! <3"

"When you start, you may think that this is just a love story with a fantastic component. However, it is more than that: yes, there is love, and yes, it is a good slowburn, but I feel that it's more about trust. In the begining, Sofia is just closed up, she doesn't want to trust, to feel anything for anyone. However, here it comes Dave, the new boy with blue eyes and a huge secret, for whom she, little by little, start to feel things. Through the pages, you will know her and her desire for a normal life, but also you will learn about a rich, complex shadow world, full of dangers and hunters, and a new, original kind of werewolf: those creatures, the weredogs, are quite different from what we all know (and you will find that the author knows a lot about dogs and how they behave). In this end, this is a story about growing, about being brave and able to love and trust somebody else. It is, also and more important, about accepting not only another, but especially oneself."
