Chapter 1

Maniac had jumped off of the bus and he was armed with nothing but his wits and a parachute. He stared at the ground, he pointed his body at what looked like an abandoned town and then pulled the string on his parachute and his parachute deployed and it slowed him down from falling to his death. Now when he was on the bus, he had noticed he had been paired with three other people and those people didn’t jump when he had. He wondered where they were. So all he was wearing right now were a pair of combat boots, a pair of red and black camouflaged pants and a white tank-top. He didn’t think he was going to last long in this world, he landed on the roof of a house and his parachute disappeared. That was a bit strange, he scanned the area for other people and he noticed that there weren’t any.

“It’s a bit too quiet.” He noticed an open window on the side of the house. He jumped down from the roof top and entered the open window. It was a bed room and it looked ransacked. There was a yellow chest that had been opened and he noticed a few medic packs, a pistol with ammo next to it and vials filled with blue liquid. He picked all of them up though, the med kit went into his backpack along with the vials of blue liquid and the gun appeared in his hand automatically. He then noticed a box with the a picture of the gun and how many bullets it had. Now he was curious about the liquid in the blue vials. What did they do? Was it some sort of energy drink or did they serve some other purpose?

He heard the sound of foot steps approaching and it sounded like it was coming from outside of the room. He searched for a door that lead out of the room and he shut it immediately. He walked over to the bed and crouched down beside of it. He could still hear the foot steps outside the room. They were getting lighter and it sounded like they had went away. Why were they in this house? Oh, they could be looting it.

Play it safe, that is what he wanted to do. Stay away from other people and try not to get shot. Also, he wondered why his other team mates didn’t drop down with them. Did they have an agenda or things that they were doing? Or was it just the simple fact that they had gotten separated when they had jumped. He had a circular device on his right wrist, it almost looked like the dragon ball radar from dragonball z. He assumed it was a map of some sort. He noticed there were two red dots at the location he was in. That is when he heard firing a level below himself.

He stared at the door for a moment or two. “Sounds like they are in the living-room.” He slowly opened the door, when the door opened it made a creepy creaking sound. Yeah, that wasn’t going to alert anyone to where he was. He heard the firing stop. Then there was a sound he had never heard before, it sounded like a transporter bea m from the old star trek television shows. He looked down at the device on his wrist and the two red dots were gone. So the red dots were the enemies. That might make the journey in this world a little bit easier. He didn’t want it to be too easy though.

The silence was deafening. There wouldn’t be a lot of moments like this and he knew it. He made his way down the flight of stairs which lead him into the living-room. There were a bunch of the blue liquid vials on the floor and a few shotguns with ammo laying next to them. He went over and picked up the shotgun and ammo and both of them were added to his backpack and inventory. How much stuff could this backpack hold? He needed to be careful about what he picked up.

“You can’t hoard stuff here.” In every game that he has played he has hoarded stuff. Especially in those Elder Scrolls Games. This didn’t feel like just a play through of an online Battle Royal Game right now. It felt different, it felt real. Maybe he was overthinking things. Yeah, he’d win this match and then his Totino’s Pizza Rolls would be done. Now he had a goal and mission. He was off to find his team mates. His team mates should be represented on his tracker as colored triangles. He was white. So there should be three other colors : RED, BLUE and YELLOW.

Now if small little red dots didn’t show up on his tracker he would be fine. He didn’t like running from fights, especially in a world like this. He told himself it’s better to run and fight another day than go into a fire fight unprepared and under armored as well. Getting eliminations was awesome and that made you more credible in this world. It wasn’t everything though. He needed to find his team mates. For all he knew his team mates could be running around naked without shields or armor. He needed to get it together. He walked out the front door and then scanned the area.

This house was in the middle of nowhere, all he could see was tall grass and some farming tractors. Had he landed on a farm of some sort? That would be his luck. He didn’t hear any cows or wild life approaching him. He was safe for now and he saw a barn and started running towards it. There might be some cool stuff in there he could use. Again, he needed to be mindful of the stuff that he picked up. He didn’t think he could hold more stuff in his inventory.

. He kept his focus on that barn that he saw. He began to run towards it, his heart was racing. The adrenaline with him was pumping as well and his mind was racing more than his heart. The barn was getting closer and closer to him. He heard gun fire near the barn. “Damn!” he muttered. He watched one of the walls just simply disintegrate from the gun fire. He looked around for another building to go into. He needed a place where the enemies couldn’t fire him. He looked down at the locator on his wrist. Yup, there were tons of red dots around this location. In hindsight this might have not been a great idea.

He saw a giant bale of hay. He had an idea, he could hide in that bale and then jump out when everyone was gone. Great idea. He crouched down and began to run towards the bale of hay and he then jumped into it. A nice hiding spot. He only had his pistol. So his life was what worried him. Maybe he should try one of those blue liquid vials. It probably wouldn’t do that much to him and probably couldn’t hurt him like the enemy could. He searched his inventory for the blue liquid. One appeared in his free hand and he popped the cork out of one of them and then drank it as fast as he could. He looked down at his hands and he noticed there was a blue aura around them. What was this going to do? Could this be like some kind of recovery item? Also if he jumped out of the hay he would be really easy to spot. Maybe this wasn’t such a great idea. He stayed still for another moment and he noticed that the shooting had stopped.

“They could be back at anytime.” He paused for a moment. “Maybe they killed each other.” That was the best case scenario. An area with no enemies was a great area and he could loot as much as he could. According to his inventory he had one more of those blue liquid vials left. Now did this blue aura have a time limit or did it protect him if he got shot at? This might sound stupid but he wanted someone to shoot him to see if this aura would protect him from the bullets.

He walked out from his bale of hay hiding spot and he looked around. Definitely there was no one around. He looked down at the locator on his wrist and there were no red dots in his area. That didn’t mean there was no one there. It could mean they were just hiding and weren’t firing their weapons off. He looked back towards where the barn was supposed to be standing. It wasn’t there anymore. It must have been destroyed in a battle. He noticed a few items glowing on the ground where the barn had been. Was it worth it to go look at them? It might be a trap.
