Chapter 1 THE BEGINNING 🌅
Twenty one years ago, the King and Queen of the Atlantic kingdom, which was the greatest kingdom among the five oceans, took their annual pilgrimage across the cities, towns and villages in their kingdom, besides them was their two sons, Prince Sabastine, five years ago and the heir and Prince Albert two years, who was still a toddler. One faithful day as they came into the city of Silverlon, at the entrance to the city, a pice of ornament had caught the eyes of prince Albert and he had strayed away to get it. His actions had alarmed the Queen to search for her missing son who was just a toddler. After five minutes of searching, they found him starring at two poor children in battered clothes, begging along the street with his ornament in his hands. He took a few steps towards them and squatted before them, curiosity getting the better of him. The Queen had immediately rushed to him, and upon seeing the two poor children, she had compassion in her heart. A little boy of about seven years was holding tightly in his arm a three months old baby girl who was crying severely due to hunger. The Queen made an attempt to touch the little girl but was prevented by her elder brother.
"Don't touch her!" As her pulls his sister away from the Queen.
"I only want to help."
"If you want to help, then please give me something to buy food for my sister, she's hungry and I don't have anything to get her food."
The little boy himself looked malnourished but only cared for his little sister.
"I'm the Queen, Queen Kara and this is my son, Prince Albert. Why don't you come live with me to the palace with your sister and I promise to give you all the food you need so you won't have to beg on the street anymore."
looking at the little boy there was no way he was going to leave his sister side, so the Queen had to offer to take both of them with her. Weighing his options the little boy agreed to go with the Queen as long as he was going with his little sister. The Queen extended her hands to the little boy and he hasted a bit before accepting her hand while he still held on tight to the baby in his hands. Holding both her son and the little boy, they walked back to the group where the King and Sabastine were waiting, on the way she asked.
"What's your name my boy?"
He looked at her for awhile before answering.
"Jacobus... Jacobus Dane"
"And your sister?"
"Riley."
"Those are really lovely names." The name 'Dane' sounded familiar to the Queen, after all she is the custodian of all existence.
"Where are your parents so we find them for you"
"They are dead, they died trying to save us. my mom asked me to run away with my sister before she died."
This news touched the heart of the Queen and she was more determined to bring them with her to the palace.
Arriving at where the King was waiting, the King rushed to her as soon as he saw her.
"You found him, thank goodness that he is alright." he turned and saw the other children beside the Queen and asked
"And who are they?"
"This is Jacobus and that's Riley, I found Albert with them."
"Why are they here?"
"They were begging on the street, and their parents are no more. I couldn't help but to have compassion on them especially the baby, beside Albert won't leave without them."
"Alright, I don't have an issue if you want to take care of them. but we need to get back to the palace by nightfall, we've been traveling for two months now, it's time to return to the palace." the King himself is known to be very passionate and understanding so it didn't take him long to accept the Queen's request.
"Does the name Dane ring a bell to you?" the Queen asked the King on their way back to the palace.
"Dane....?" the King asked trying to recall.
"Yeah, the name sounds familiar but I don't seem to recall, tell me where did you hear this name." the Queen motioned to the children
"They bear the name Dane."
"Mm, that's strange, but don't worry yourself too much we would remember if it was that important."
All through the trip back home Albert played with Riley and Jacobus but Sebastian just couldn't take his eyes off Riley, he was so fasinated by her hazel green eyes and delicate skin that he whispered under his breath "Lily Angel"
On getting to the palace, the Queen ordered some of her maids to take care of Jacobus and Riley and make sure they were well feed. She then assigned a maid to take special care of Riley since she was still a baby.
