Chapter 1
I was in the passenger seat next to my mom, who just parked in front of what I will be calling “home.” I was the one who wanted to move to Miami, but here’s the thing, I’m not used to changes. There’s only two things that changed in my life, when dad left mom and me, and when I did my first movie when I was six years old, and that happened almost at the same time.
“Are you ready?” asked my mom, who was looking at me like she was reading my mind.
“I think so.” I said
“Then let’s do this!”
My mom was very exited when I told her I wanted to move, since my dad left, my mom insisted to move somewhere else to have a new start, but I was doing my first movie “Little Things” so she gave up on the idea. Now I just needed some time off from everything that was happening back in Orlando, I just couldn’t stay there anymore.
When we walked through the front door every box that we packed were there even the ones that were delivered late were there.
“It seems like everything is here. Want to start unpacking?”
“Sure.”
I started by picking up the boxes from my bedroom. Last week we came to take a look at the house, so I already knew where my room is.
When I entered the room my bed and desk were already there, so I started unpacking the stuff for my desk.
When I took out my notebooks some paper fell out, my scrips from my latest project, well what would’ve been my latest project if Tyler wouldn’t ruin it.
He was stupid when he told the press I was quitting acting so the producers told me that they didn’t want me in the project anymore.
That’s why I decided to take a break from everything.
“How are you doing here?” a voice sent me back to reality and out of my thoughts.
My mom was on the door of my room wearing a huge smile.
“I was unpacking my notebooks and I saw this.”
I showed her the script.
“Oh Cassy, don’t worry about that now. That’s why we’re here, to forget all that and move on.”
“I now, I thought I left it in the house back in Orlando. I guess I took it with my notebooks when I was in a hurry.”
“Well, let’s keep that out of our minds and focus on the good things.”
“Okay.”
Mom was right, if I wanted to move on then I had to forget about all the drama that was going on in Orlando. But moving here wasn’t easy, we had to do a lot of research about where I wouldn’t be recognized that easily. My manager Leifthan had a lot of people researching until they found a place. That’s how I ended up in Miami, I liked it here, specially the beach.
It took almost all day to unpack half of my stuff, I thought it was a good thing considering that the next I wouldn’t have much to do.
I would start school tomorrow, and I was a little nervous about it. I’ve never been in a real school, I always did online school with my friends on set, even before I started acting I didn’t go to school. I hoped that people didn’t recognize me because if they did, then moving here wouldn’t be worth it.
