Prologue
A couple of hundred years after the 78 class killing game, despair started to rise again. Kids were kidnapped and biologically engineered. A company called Danganronpa had taken advantage of the peaceful time and set their sorts on biologically engineered child soldiers. The dark time spread fast, and soon the resistance had been quelled, except for a very specific group of friends who had all been set sight on by danganronpa for one reason or another, and fought fiercely against him.
Shuichi Saihara was a clever teen with a decserning eye, but he also had zero confidence in himself and was shy and insecure. But he was able to tell when people are lying. Shuichi never knew his parents, and when his kindly uncle died and he was sent to an orphanage, he thought his life was over, but he met other kids with an unfortunate fate and made the best friends of his life.
Chiaki Nanami was a kind but self concious and indesicive gamer. However, the girl had the ability to send live conciosnesses into any software, including herself. Chiaki's parents soon separated, not caring about each other, but cared little for there girl as well, and gave her away to the state where she was sent to an orphanage, incidentally the same one Shuichi had been sent to, causing them to be fast friends.
Kokichi Ouma was a mischievious trickster with a bit of a sadistic side, being teritorial over his friends. Kokichi had the ability to sway anyone with a lie besides Shuichi, as the two powers kind of cancelled each other out. He never knew his parents and had found a group of street kids that he named dice. Kokichi was caught by the police and dragged to the orphanage, where he at first was quite hostile towards Shuichi and Chiaki, before becoming inmensly protective of them and claiming the two as his friends.
Hyoko Saionji was a bratty, childish teen who had a secret fear of being forgotten and alone. Hyoko's ability was a queer one, since she could control monkeys, and only monkeys, for some reason. Hyoko had once been the heir of one of the best dancing families in japan, before they had been killed in the night and the girl who had had everything was shipped off to an orphanage. Though to be fair her life was messed up given what her parents had done to her. She first acted haughty before she was put in her place, and somehow managed to befriend the three others who could do strange things.
Keebo grew up as the single son of an inventor, not knowing his mom. He was friendly but also insecure, and was bullied a lot. Keebo had the ability to control machines and everything made of ones and zeroes. When Keebo's father died, he ran away in hope that he wouldn't be found by the police, but there wasn't much he could hide and he was dragged off to an orphanage. The boy had no idea what he was doing, but managed to befriend a group ou outcasts much like him.
Kaede Akamatsu was an incredible pianist, and had a kind and coragous heart. That being said, she could be pushy at times. The girl had the ability of super hearing. Kaede knew something was wrong when she came home from school and strange individuals were talking with her parents. She became infuriated when she was shipped off to an orphanage with no explination. However, she there discovered a group of outcasts who had all been rejected by the world, and grew very fond of them.
Nagito Komaeda was a seemingly well mannered individual, but had developed a dangerous thought process due to his trauma as a child. Having the abilty to pass through objects, Nagito had luck that always twisted and backfired on him. Like when his home burned down with his parents inside of it and the boy was sent straight to an orphanage. Everyone rejected him there but a small and very eccentric group that had abilities and pasts similiar to his own.
Tsumugi Shirogane was very soft spoken and tried not to be noticed by her parents, who abused her. The girl developed a talent for blending into the background because of this. Yes she had no friends but if she was never agdnolaged, she couldn't be hurt. This fit into her ability to shapeshift well. Tsumugi was soon taken out of her parents care though, and was brought to an orphanage where she met a close knit group who had been hurt like she was.
Rantaro Amani was a mystery. He was soft spoken and kind mannered, but none of them quite knew why he was dropped off at the orphanage they called home. He just said he was traveling and left it at that.
Hajime Hiniata was miserable. He had no abilities, and hoped it stayed that way. Of all accounts he was a normal kid, but he had been on the run from a group called danganronpa for as long as he could remember. He was reliable and friendly, but also short temper and an bit of a pessimist. When danganronpa caught him, he knew it was over. He managed to escape somehow, but didn't know how he could warn others like him. The others weren't sure what to think about the kid who snuck in to talk to them mumbling about a kamarurra project and danganronpa, but they took the leap and left, the broken completed.
Rantaro felt like scum. The group had spent two years on the run together, learning more about there abilities and each other, but Rantaro was different. He didn't tell them about his enhancement because he didn't have one. He had been assigned to watch over the group for danganronpa, and he hated thinking about his betrayal, but it didn't stop him from turning the group in, knowing the organization was afraid of the ragtag group of outcasts. He also hadn't told them the truth about Hajime, how danganronpa planned to lobotomize him to become a different person. From what he could tell though, Hajime was onto him. He really wanted to tell his friends what he did, but he was to cowardly to say it out right, so he made sure his friends had there phones and started a group chat, using it to communicate the dark truth. After that however, Rantaro stopped stalling and opened the cell doors in hope that his friends to escape, but ran into Chisa, who forced him to see on a tv his friends separated and Hajime thrown into the room kicking and screaming. "I will never help you!" The boy sneered and though Rantaro was proud of him he was terrified for his friend's safety. "You won't have a choice," was Chisa's reply, putting a gun to his head. "I'd rather die!" Hajime snarled, and Rantaro ran only for his friend to grab the gun out of Chisa's hands and shoot himself with it, as Rantaro's world crumbled around him. Rantaro frantically ran to his side, but though his heart was still beating, it wouldn't last long. Before Rantaro could help his friend however, he was manhandled out of the room and told that he actually had been genetically modified, and had the power to control his brainwashed friends. This resulted in him throwing a chair at Munnakata, but it was too late, they had lost.

There are stories you read, and then there are stories you feel. Yours is definitely the latter. your recent plot development was so skillfully written,it broke me a little, but in the best way. You’ve built something that’s both heartbreaking and hopeful. Absolutely stunning writing!
