Chapter 1
“Zachary, wait up, i cant run anymore,” i yelled to Zachary, my best friend, really my only friend. As Zachary slowed, i started to yell to him that i needed to go to the store. But as i was talking to him, the ground started to shake, the sky turned black and it started to rain. As me and him stared in disbelief, a shadow rose from the ground, and my eyes could nott believe what i was seeing. a dragon, the size of a 50 story building, rose from the ground up and kept rising, and rising until it was at full hight. When we started to run, a portal opend underneath us and we fell in side.
When i woke up, i saw was inside of a giant room and i thought i was dreaming, but then i felt something hit me in the temple, then a loud bomming voice command me to stand up. When i stood up, i saw that Zachary was being held in chains, with a axe to his head. “Who are you and what are you doing inside of my throne room?” the loud booming voice asked me. “My name is Katsuro Walker, and this is Zachary. I do not know why i am in your throne room.” i told the man with the loud bomming voice who is seated inside of a tall throne, with jewels running down the side. As the man in the throne was about to speak, a girl around my age burst through the giant doors, running full tilt towards the man. “Stop father, this is the man from the prophecy. The man who will defeat the dark dragon, and free us from our suffering. You, with the axe, release that man this instant.” said the girl. “I will take you to your rooms and yall need to get ready to meet at the training grounds tomorrow.” she said as she turned to look at me.
As the girl took us to our rooms, we went to Zacharys first. “This is where you will be staying for now.” she said to Zachary and told him to go inside. After we left Zachary in his room, we went to the room i will be sleeping in. When i went inside, the girl followed me and sat on the bed. “Can you tell me what this is about?” i asked the girl. “You were prophisized to come to our kingdom, train as a fighter and defeat the dark dragon.” the girl said. “Ok i get that but why? and what is your name any way?” i asked the girl. “I dont know why but you were. and my name is Delilah Sasaki.” she said and got up to leave.
After i got settled down, me and Zachary were called down to eat. When we got down there, we were shocked to see how much food was on the table. As we sat down, Delilah came out of a door to the right crying. When she ran past us, she asked me to meet her on the roof, when i said ok, ran out of the dining hall and me, Zachary, and the king were left to eat the food. “Sir, is your daughter ok?” i asked the king. “Honestly i dont know shes just never listening and she dosent want to go through with her marrige and its so stressfull, but eat you have a long day tomorrow.” the king told me, so i started eating.
When i was finished eating i went up to the roof to talk to Delilah. When i got there i saw her sitting on a bench, petting a puppy. “Hey, i heard about the marrige. I dont know how i can help but talk to me, im a good listener.” i told her as i sat down. “My father has arranged for me to marry the prince of evenglade, the worst kingdom out there. and when i try to tell him why i wont, he just gets into a rant about how i dont care about this kingdom and i never have.” she said as i sat there, listening to her words. “Dont be so down, atleast your not marrying someone like me. I dont care for anything that i dont like, i dont like to talk to alot of people, and i dont have any friends exept for Zachary and thank you for saving him.” i told her to try to sheer her up and it did so i told her im going to go to my room and go to bed and that i would see her tomorrow and i left her alone to stare at the night sky.
As i was falling asleep, i thought about my life back home and then i realized, i left my mom, my dad, and my little sister behind. When i thought about that i sat up and walked to the window. As i looked into the night sky i felt someone wrap there arms around me. “Im sorry, i cant sleep can i stay with you tonight, ill sleep on the floor but i usally have someone in my room with me but they are watching over my sister tonight so i cant sleep.” she asked me. “Yea sure, and ill sleep on the floor you take the bed.” i told her and she went and laid down on the bed. “Goodnight.” i wispered to her as she fell asleep.
