Running into the library I spotted my best friend Drew straight away. “Drew!” I whisper yelled to him receiving glares from people around us. He looks up from his computer and smiles wide. “Hey, Allie what are you doing here?”. I take a seat in front of him watching him work on the computer smiling wide. “so, guess who has a date this weekend?”. I’m so excited I’m barely able to sit still in my chair. Drews face alters slightly with the question but quickly hides in with a smile.” Erm, well it can’t be Candy as she is already seeing somebody, so I’m going out on a whim by saying it’s you?”. “Yes!” I exclaim earning more glares. Rolling my eyes at them I explain to Drew about the upcoming date. “Candy from work set me up, apparently he is friends with her boyfriend Will, he’s tall, has brown hair, and is a businessman”. “Sounds like your type. So what are you doing after this?” He asks changing the subject. “hmm, I don’t know. It’s my day off so I might take a trip to the café for a much-needed coffee and then go home and work on my next painting for work”. I can’t wait to get back to the easel, there is just something relaxing about putting paint on a canvas and creating something for others to enjoy. “Sounds good, I might pop around after to check out your next masterpiece”. Drew goes back to working on the computer, while I sit there for a few minutes more thinking about my date and imagining what he looks like.

Heading back home after grabbing my coffee I changed into some old clothes and headed to my art room. Grabbing an empty canvas and setting it up on the easel, I mix some colors and let the paintbrush glide along the surface. My mind returns when I hear a knock on my door. Glancing at my work I notice that the canvas is now full of different colours and strokes of the brush creating an image of a park in the snow. After hearing a couple more knocks I go to answer. Drew is standing on the other side wrapped up in a winter coat and a beanie. “Hey, I brought food” He holds up a plastic bag of what smells like Chinese food. “You’re the best, come in and I’ll grab some plates” Opening the door wider for him to enter, I retreat to the kitchen to grab what we need while Drew opens the containers ready to dish out.

Placing our plates on the coffee table we put a movie on and I place my head on his lap. Drew starts stroking my hair and my eyes grow heavy, never realising I fell asleep until I feel Drew starting to move. I sit up to let him up, watching him grab his coat and beanie ready to leave. “Thanks for dinner, next time is on me” he smiles and pulls me in for a hug, squeezing a bit too tightly. “can’t.breathe” I wheeze out, he chuckles and lets go, kissing me on the cheek he makes his way to the door. “See you later” with a wave he leaves. Sighing I start to clear up the plates leaving them in the sink for tomorrow morning. Having a quick shower and brushing my teeth I head to bed ready for work the next day.
