Everyone wish to be special. Everyone wants to stand out against the crowd. What most people don’t know is that standing out is not always good.
In the last 50 years there has been several genetic mutations within the human species. Some of them products of horrible experimentation, others the result contamination, and others... just simple natural selection.
Human evolution usually takes hundreds of years but given all the experiments they have conducted to the population without them knowing, it was not uncommon for the young adults to start showing the results of these experiments. But there are rare cases in which children manifest these mutations. In the most tragic cases, they families will hide the mutations from the government and the children either die or go feral.
My eldest brother was one of them. He manifests his mutation at the tender age of ten. He was amazing. At first, it was our own little secret, my brother could see all the spectrums of the light and manipulate them. Something a little fitting of his personality taking into consideration that he used to love the lights decorations on Christmas. Jonah was pretty good hiding his abilities from everyone, but he was a kid. He was bound to lose control at some point, and he did.
