Chapter 1, The Castle

PROLOGUE

There was a big white mansion that sets on a hill in front of the forest, with a long paved drive way with trees on each side and a big gate at the end of it, a big covered porch that barely goes along the front of the house, with beautiful white rose bushes on each side of the porch steps. However, if you knew the dirty little secrets that lies among that house.

One day the king of that small kingdom had mysteriously died and no one knew how. Rumors say that he was poisoned but nobody knows the real reason, or who may have done it. Some people thinks it was his wife, but why? Before the king died he would always tell everyone that when he did die or retire he wanted to give everything to his two kids, the oldest Ara Raven, and the youngest Adrielle Raven. When Ara turned twenty years old he was to become king and find a queen and Adrielle would stay the princess and find a prince. But after years of her mother abusing her and mistreating her, she takes her horse, River, and packs a bag of clothes and runs away to her fathers hidden castle that nobody knows of or where it is except her mother...

*Nine Years Later*

There was a twenty year old explorer named Sebastian Beckford. On a chilly fall day Sebastian was heading in the forest to explore an abandoned castle, or so he thought.

*Sebastian*

As I was making my way to this castle that is located in the middle of the forest I heard a noise behind me that nearly sounds like a horse galloping just as I was climbing over a fallen tree that looks like it has been there for decades. I quickly turn around to see what the noise is to find nothing, so I continue to walk off thinking it was just me hearing things.

As I finally get to this castle after walking what feels like hours, I take a good look at it and all I can say is "Wow". This place is beautiful it is a light colored rock and you can tell it is old because it's got black spots on the bottom and the roof of the castle and moss all over the castle, it has a wooden front door and looks three stories high, the path ways are made of the light colored rock that the castle is made of and dirt. The path lead around the castle and down to a garden and stable.

I decided to go inside the castle, as I walk in everything is clean and straightly organized, there are two sofas that are a forest green with a matching loveseat, a dark wooden coffee table and end tables. I thought that it was kinda strange for everything to be so perfect, but yet abandoned. I then walk into a doorway that leads to a kitchen, it is huge. There is a big rectangle table with twelve chairs, one chair on each end and five chairs on each side, a wooden back door, a big black island with a marble counter, then of course all the cabinets that are black, the refrigerator, sink and stove. Wait, there is a tea kettle brewing on the stove. I then indeed knew somebody did live there, I didn't want to be rude so I went back in the livingroom and sat down on one of the sofas.

I had been waiting for an hour now and had to use the bathroom, I walked up a black spiral staircase to the second floor. When I step onto the second floor there is a opened wooden door infront of me, I walk to it and look inside to see a bathroom. It's got gray wooden floors, stone walls, a black sink and white claw foot tub, a gray mirror above the sink, a dark wooden wardrobe in the far left corner, a window beside it, and a glass chandelier.

When I walk out of the bathroom I see two wooden double doors on the right side of the stairs, and I have to admit I am a pretty curious person. I walk into the room "Hmm a library,".

There's bookshelves all alongside the left and right wall and goes all the way up to the ceiling witha rolling ladder, on the back wall is a window and a window seat, and on my right side is a wooden desk and chair, a matching trunk, and a bunch of old pictures hanging on the wall behind the desk. I walk over to the desk and on it is a journal and some old polaroid pictures. I open the journal and start reading it to myself.

"Dear Diary,

I'm really missing father even though I only had eight years with him, but he was a great father. He loved me, mom and Ara very much even though mom was an absolute witch, well she doesn't even deserve to be called mom. But anyway, she was just with dad for the money and fame, I just don't understand why she did what she did. Father or I didn't deserve any of that, but that was nine almost ten years ago. I guess I just have to let it go untill I get ny revenge.

Sincerely, Adrielle Raven"

"Adrielle Raven, isn't that King Kayan's daughter? I wonder what they mean by money and fame?" I asked myself as I look at the polaroid's that are all of a little girl and boy.

"I wonder if the girl in these pictures are Adrielle? Or who even lives here?"

As I turn around to look at the pictures on the wall, I look at the biggest one of them all that's a picture of a middle aged man, his hair comes to his shoulders, his hair is black with white strips in it, and he's got a bushy white beard and green eyes. "Why does this man look like King Kayan?" I asked

"That's because it is, now what are doing in my castle?" A girl voice said, I turn around to see a girl that looks a couple years younger than me, she has black long wavy hair and green eyes. It's at that moment that I realize she's holding a sword to my neck.
