Chapter 1

Aaliyah POV

The arrival of summer is the time of the year that I always look out for.

The way it gives life to everything, there's this "I've always told you kind of message it gives out, at the end of the track there's is hope".

Flowers amuse me the most, when summer sets in then everything blooms again.

Every day I yearn for morning to reach by the grace of God, so I'll go to my little garden, and we greet each other, as though we understand ourselves.

So here I am again, I was so enthralled with the beautiful plants that I didn't hear the footsteps approaching.

Till I heard 'Wow they grew quite lovely' the words that left a human's mouth, a male in particular, which is not my brother.

I was so shocked and ready to splint but as always my messiness caused me to stumble on my long drawing skirt, I just love skirts and blouses then I always top them up with my veil that covers my hair.

The person came forward with the mind of help, I veer back and made for a run, making my veil fell, I don't care I have many of them.

I reached my room out of breath, wow it's been long since I last hit the gym, I guess my body's finally giving me a clue to let go of this laziness of mine.

After my prayer early in the morning, I drink a glass of water, chat with my flowers, hit the gym, then have breakfast.

But for some time now, I just drop my routine, the only one left is visiting the garden, I didn't even know when I change, and I must confess that I like it.

Now come think of it, who's that cool honey drop voice I heard, there's a sense of serenity in it.

It's been ages since I've been to the outside world, don't get me wrong I'm not on a lockdown or anything, I finished college and didn't feel like going further.

Though that gave my brother Mus'ab heartache because he just felt like what's stopping me, we are okay, right kind of a little rich, we're a family of four, our parents my brother, and I.

The Microsoft producer 'Hassan' that you've always heard about, I'm his daughter, I know you'll be like girl you're not a little rich, you're the money itself.

Then the pretty well-doing cardiologist my brother.

My mom Maha is a teacher, she doesn't like being a sit-at-home mom. So she'll rather work and help with the contribution during donations.

Then there's me who only wants to sleep, paint and make a design.

Why bother to go through university when you don't feel like, no I can't give myself that stress.

So you see we have all the means for me to continue with school, but I don't want to.

My parents didn't mind, they always tell me to choose 'happy'.

But you see that bookaholic, he has all the mind and he just can't do anything without having to remind me that he has work to do.

I don't mean to brag but have you seen all the great paintings I made in my working room, I also make beautiful designs for cloth.

Deep down he's proud of me, but he hates that I didn't further my studies so I could be able to turn it into something professional, am also not on social media, it's been a long time since I went out, and I don't need anything outside the world.

And I get to hear the latest during dinner time, Mus'ab knows everything.

So why go through all the things I know and already did, in the name of school, I also know that I'm naturally gifted and I hate stress.

That is a private garden of mine in the backyard of my room.

And from the main building, you should only know the blueprints of our house off head to be able to go there.

So who's this wandering stranger and how he got there it's a mystery.

I should be scared like a normal human being, but am not, the only annoying part is he disturbed my time with my friends, I didn't get to spend much with them.

Though I didn't get to see his face, I only heard his voice.

Before I knew what was happening the brushes and the strokes lines guided my hand.

And within some minutes there's a picture of a guy without a face standing behind and a lady trying to run, amid beautiful nature made of flowers, and sun.

This is so pretty.

Okay, what's it with today and people giving me a scare from the back?

Mus'ab at least give a hi, can you?

Nope, it's my little sis's room, so I'll come in at any time I like, he gave a reply.

I shook my head and said do you know that at times I feel like am your elder?

Sure.

What! What a curt reply.

Well, you do behave like an old woman, from an older generation.

If not because I was there when they gave birth to you, I would have sworn you were not a human and very weird, which you are.

I made for my pillow, but he with quick reflexes, made a quick dodge.

Well, I just came to check on whether you haven't given up on dinner too.

Some of us just came back from the important things we do daily, he said while he led the way.

You see what I told you about him always reminding me that I'm workless.

Alright, let's go for dinner.
