Chapter 1
Intro - Chapter 1
He was everything I've ever wanted. Or so I thought he was. His behaviour was so kind, so sweet like I've always needed. Or so I thought I did. He opened my eyes and showed me how passionate and flameable love can ever be. Or so I thought he did. But at the end, he shattered my heart into millions of pieces.. But at least he still loved me. Or so I thought he did.
The First Look
''Someone must really like you.''
I chuckle at the ladys comment over my non stop overblowing phone that's ringing through the entire elevator. ''Yeah no, it's just my brother.''
''Must be worried then.'' Her old, wrinkly smile warmed my heart more than any hug.
Before I can repeatedly smile at the yellow top lady, the elevator finally stops at the 17th floor and the doors spread open. I take the opportunity and finally pick up the phone only to hear immediete yelling.
''I told you to call me as soon as you get there. I won't be home for a while, just let me know when you're inside the apartment, and I also left some pasta in the fridge.'' - Elon is such a pain in the ass as an older brother. But it's good to have someone to look over you when you're in a totally different surrounding. Just not like him, he's way too much.
''Did you not receive any of my messages? I left like a dozen and you've just been ignoring me, Elon.'' He never reads texts. I think he is almost purely like every single stereotypical older brother who just calls you instead of sending a text message only to say a single word. ''I don't have time for your texts, Lily, just call me when you're in.'' - And he once again leaves the call barely twenty seconds in. I sometimes think he is better as a bodyguard than a brother.
I step out of the elevator and start walking forward the long hallway in hopes of soon finding the correct room door that Elon gave me. Dragging my suitcase across the hall carpet behind me, mindful of the time and the fact that most people are deep asleep by now. Except I was right about most people. Then my rolling suitcase wheel sounds didn't seem to be any bigger of a problem when I heard shattering glass and screams coming from a room near me. And before I can entirely comprehend what it was, the door swings wide open, loudly barging against the hallways wall, just right past my eyes. A blonde girl wearing nothing but torn pastel purple lingerie and dark red blood running down her knees and shoulders from the broken glass shards runs out of the apartment, with me being the first thing she sees.
''Call 911, please! He is going to kill me!'' Her voice trembling in fear, almost as if she has just seen a ghost. I had little to no idea what the hell was going on but I had my cell phone in hand already from just being on the phone with my brother a moment ago, yet something in me misfunctioned when I saw the girl being aggressively pulled back by the back of her neck underneath her wavy blonde hair and basically thrown back inside the room. My gaze then shot up to stop at two devilish looking hazelnut colored eyes, followed by blood trailing down the man's bottom lip down onto his huge, toned chest. What by now I thought was the ghost that the blondie saw was standing right in front of me. Maybe twice the size of me with his full arm tattooed shoulder to wrist. He was standing a fair distance away but I could still somehow feel every rage-full breath of his on my white airport sweats.
''Mind your business, little girl. Have a good night.'' His voice husky and gravelly, clearly holding back anger. As soon as he walked back in, pulling the door shut right behind his fit back, leaving me standing mid hallway contemplating my move here and leaving a mark in the wall from the door handle. What honestly looked like just built up ingraves of the same situation of the flying door just as this. Even if I was just not about to mind my business, my phone started vibrating in my hand again and I was forced to leave it. Not even answering and rolling my eyes instead, I rushed just a few steps forward by the door that was supposedly my temporary home for now until I am able to afford my own flat. I take the keys out and rush inside in the hurry to pick up the damn phone. I softly raise my shoulder to steady my phone up to my ear meanwhile closing and locking the door behind me. ''I'm in, will you pleaaseeee let me be alone for one second now.'' I most probably sounded annoyed but I am utterly just tired. Not to go past the fact that I had just encountered the most overwhelming experience after an 8 hour flight from Santa Ana and my first few hours in San Diego have been terrible so far.
I hear Elon shift his tone and back his phone away from his ear. ''Good. Sleep well Lily.''
