CHAPTER 01
For Irene Everett, the day was going to be like any other.
Nothing foreshadowed what was about to happen!
As if nothing had happened, she opened her eyes just as the morning light streamed through the curtains.
"Urghโฆ," Irene broke out as she realized she should be getting up slowly.
And what was she most definitely not going to do!
If it was the same day as any other, there would be no problem.
However, today she was supposed to summon her familiar, which she was very much afraid of at the moment!
And that's because if she fails this time, her further studies at Ezoxiton were in doubt.
That's why she didn't want to get up so much, even though she knew she had to.
Especially since she remembered her previous life.
Even though she couldn't remember her name at the time.
"How about simulating an illness?," Irene thought after a moment, trying to figure out how to get out of this horror.
However, before she managed to answer this question.
Irene heard footsteps coming from the corridor, which grew louder with each passing moment.
"Even if I feigned illness, it wouldn't do any goodโฆ," Irene finally said, knowing full well that she would have to approach it anyway, whether she wanted to or not.
She didn't even manage to get out of bed before her nervous mother burst into her room.
"Irene, it's time to get up! You can't miss such an opportunity!," said Martha Everett firmly as she pulled the covers off her daughter.
Irene muttered something incoherent under her breath as she reluctantly got up.
"Just don't whisper to me! I know you're nervous, but that doesn't mean you're missing out on this opportunity, okay?," Martha Everett replied after a moment to her daughter's purr.
"I am perfectly aware of that, mother! You don't have to remind me!," Irene snapped irritably at her mother's words as she slid her feet to the floor in search of stupid slippers.
And that's because she didn't have to remind her of it, because she was perfectly aware of it.
That's why she was so nervous because she was the only one in her year who didn't have a familiar or a mate.
And she knew that today was the last day to get it! If he doesn'tโฆ
She didn't even want to think about it!
She had to try, because she would never know whether or not she would succeed.
The more so that recently she had the impression that something was missing in her new life.
She just didn't know exactly what it was supposed to be.
Memories were blurred, so sometimes she was unable to decipher them.
Some names were available and some were not, which irritated her a bit.
However, there was nothing she could do about it.
Either way, she got out of bed whether she wanted to or not.
Fear grew more and more every moment, as if the end of the world was about to come.
"I know you're nervous, but I have a feeling you'll make it this time!," Martha Everett replied to her irritated daughter, whom she understood perfectly well.
"What do you not sayโฝ You and father did not have such a problem as my older brother!," squealed after a while Irene, who really didn't want to go there so as not to be pointed to the right and left.
Because that was the truth, unfortunately, and there was nothing the fair-haired girl could do about it.
Which really annoyed her a lot and gave her the impression that the Gods were behind it.
She sighed heavily and closed her eyes for a moment to calm herself down.
She jumped when she heard the answer that we have a side.
"Even so, it doesn't mean anything! Your brother came three times before he finally managed to summon his partner. Me and your father went up twice before we made it!," revealing a secret Martha Everett to let her daughter know she wasn't the only one with this problem.
