Selfless Reflection
The Year? Who fuckcing cares? What day? Just another Tuesday…
Today’s job is to secure some goods, eliminate a corpo scum, and obliterate whoever sorry ass is in there with me. Thankfully the customer has supplied me with good info on the whereabouts, 30 goons roaming the halls, and one supply manager sitting pretty on his ass; easy pickings…
I finish my coffee and drag myself off the bed, eggs and bacon are cliche, but you have to have some normality in this fucked up world… Now that I’ve fueled the fire, what’s today’s modification? Cloaking is vital, but it needs to be blast resistance; I’m supposed to walk away and look cool for the camera.
While my body takes time to coat over with the new skin cells thoroughly, I have more to change up. Purple eyes, black buzzcut, and a gaunter appearance; I want to be the Grim Reaper
when they finally see me. I’ll dress in all black with a light bulletproof vest under it; I need to pack light. Besides, my body will do all the heavy lifting. Now for the fun part…
The WhisperBlade Mk 2, a sleek minimalist cutting-edge silenced pistol, just got this puppy yesterday; I’ve also attached a hyper stiletto mod on the underside of the barrel; it makes for quick deploying of the blade and packs a punch immense enough that it can break bones.
The Shadowfold X47, based on the Hollywood classic, the Ak-47. Yet, it comes with a foldable design for reduced storage; however, it still boasts the power of the original model with parts that suit enhanced maneuverability.
Flechette bullets, once they make contact with another person’s body, their toast. They explode once embedded into the skin and burst out into tiny little darts that can pass through the most resilient metals; all I had to do was jerry-rig the Shadowfold X47 to shoot them out, and I have a weapon powerful enough to fire 500 flechettes into a person in one second.
Obsidian Shards, undetectable by even the most advanced eyewear, their small size and cutting-edge cloaking allow them to stay hidden for hours on end, ready to go off at a moment’s notice when I say. The customer wants me to kill everyone inside – explosives can do that…
Address: 227 Circuit Alley, Sector-9, Neo Haven.
I need to sneak into a cargo truck and infiltrate through the package pick-up area. And to do that, I need a bio-tag; enter Dex Nova, a newly appointed cargo transporter; she’s got the bio-tag that allows her to set foot into the cargo area without notice.
She hasn’t got her first new paycheck, still living in a barely defended trap house; easy pickings. I use a laser cutter to cut her window out and sneak in – just as the customer said, she’s sleeping. Time for a little bit of surgery…
Some NerveSync will keep her subdued while I extract the tag. With some precise cutting with my eye modifications, a few injections, and some hacking, I’ve retrieved the bio-tag. Now for my handy friend, The BioMimic, I can copy this tag and alter my own, passing undetected.
This NerveSync should keep her out for a day. She’s pretty tame with her augments; she’ll sleep like a baby. Time to catch a ride, I’ve some explosives to set…
8:00 Am, current package? A whole lotta pharmaceutical drugs, and just like the customer said, the truck driver stops at this truck stop daily; a minute is all I need. I disable the truck’s security with a small emp, buying me enough time to bypass the lock and sneak in.
We’re on the move and should be arriving in 30 minutes;
I’ll be done by 9:00 Am…
The truck is slowing; I believe we are here. I need to get the best time window and sprint out. I should have a few minutes to wait while they scan the truck… The back doors open, revealing the land of the living; a menacing bulky man wearing a suit equipped with cybernetic implants from head to toe gazes inquisitively – after a second, he nods in approval and signals the cargo crew to move in.
I hurriedly exit the truck trying not to make too much noise, and sneak into the shadows undetected. Phase One: I need to make it to the other side of this shipping depot and grab the customer’s desired item, while I move through the building, I need to place the explosives on the key supports to crumble the support structure In the future.
I need to gain some height to attach the explosives in a more discrete location; thankfully, I packed my jump enhancers.
I leap onto the overseer’s roof, a small room affixed to the cargo bay’s wall, and it’s high enough for the OmniBlast9000XS to get full coverage of its support beams.
The OmniBlast900XS? It’s an all-purpose grenade launcher with everything you could want out of it; it’s the military standard. However, the XS is my design, “Xtra Stealth,” made to work with the Obsidian Shards; and a smaller form factor.
The charges have been placed, and the overseer is slacking off; I hope he doesn’t mind a hole in his ceiling. Some NeuroBond3000 should do the trick and keep the laser-cut hole in place, although it would be hilarious if it smacked him in the head…
I open the overseer’s door to see two hallways branching off from left to right; I need to go right, deeper into the complex. According to the map, there should be some maintenance tunnels around here. Even though I’m invisible to most eyes, some things can detect me, and I’m still physical; one wrong bump means tits up and guns out.
I creep down the hallway using my thermal vision to clock in anyone beyond the walls. A guard is coming from the right; I’ll shift to the left wall and pass him. The guy takes a left and walks right by me, continuing down the hall and out of sight. Now, the maintenance tunnels are to the left; I’ll plant some explosives down the stairwell and sneak in.
Charges set, and down I go – I don’t believe today’s maintenance da— it’s maintenance day, well, time to snap some necks. I’m seeing five people, two bunched up and three alone. I’ll start with the women checking up on the generator; she’s out of the way… I slink up behind her, grab her mouth, and initiate a neural collapse, shutting down her and any alarms that might be present.
Shit, someone is coming over; I quickly hide her body behind the generator and move to the right wall. The man meanders up, confused and on edge. I snatch him before he can see the body and commence another neural shutdown.
A quick terrain scan says there’s a closet further down. Hopefully, I don’t get any more visitors… I drop the last body in the closet and close myself inside; it’s a bit stuffy in here. The maintenance gang is getting anxious, and today is my lucky day! That poor fool is coming right over!
The bewildered man saunters uneasily past the closet door. I silently open it and seize him like the others; it’s a closet party! Now, two left; unfortunately, they’re competent enough to keep an eye on each other’s back, and any longer, they’ll call in, potentially ending the mission right here…
As far as I can tell, there isn’t any way to come at them other than head-on; however, there’s enough cover to the right side to pull out my pistol discreetly. I exit the closet and gradually mosey down the corridor, taking cover behind a crate.
Make a little sound, get those weasels to pop their heads out, and – done like dinner. The area is clear; it’s time to hide the bodies and plant some explosives…
Good enough. Next up on the map will be a doozy; the security section. Sneaking through this will be a death sentence. Thank fuck I’ve made my body a mirror for any ill-fated foe I decide to steal from; I’ll snatch one and copy their visage, taking their bio-tag and their clothes.
The maintenance tunnel has an exit only a few rooms away from the security section; with luck, I’ll find a security guard… With five minutes, some thermal, and camera stalking, I’ve located a man leaving the premises, I’ll need to intercept him on his path and ensure no cameras see me.
I’ve hacked into the security network and looped their feed, I’ll make this quick, and they’ll never know… I creep out of the maintenance tunnel like a beast from the depths, reading to kill. I take a left and then a right; I should cross his path with this short hallway.
There he is… Sneak up behind him – and… Shit! His defenses are too strong for a quick takedown, I’ve shut down his communication, but I’ll need more hands-on time with him. Using my depleting grapple on him, I pull into a room and lock the door behind me. He wrestles around, elbowing me in the face, and managing to break free, yet, I snatch his gun as he backs up.
A janitor turns around in shock, mop in hand. Before she can get a peep out, I pull out the WhisperBlade Mk2 with my left hand and drop her with a clean headshot. A fist comes flying to my right as I quick-step away, focusing my gaze on the security guard.
He pulls his fist in, covering his narrowed face and readying his next blow. I keep eye contact with him and watch his shoulders, waiting for an opening… A flying fakeout comes from the left, and then a full-sent fist grazes the left of my head; beginning a flurry of punches.
I duck under the incoming punches and roll out of the way; leaving the guard to fight thin air. As he notices and starts swiveling towards me, I stand up and use my momentum to pistol whip him. His head recoils in pain as he instinctively grabs his face.
As he regains his balance and lowers his right hand, I use his pistol to bash his face in again, knocking him to his knees. I lift his head and stare him dead in the eyes; once courage filled his face, now it’s fear…
“Please… Whatever you want – I-I-”
“Shhh… Not everyone can be a winner, and unfortunately, you’re a liability; and my most useful asset,” I whisper coldly
“Wh-What?” he murmurs in confusion
“Is there anyone you’d like to say goodbye to?” I question,
giving him an ounce of mercy
“Wh- Y-Yes, m-my girlfriend!” he exclaimed, still trying to rack his brain around this situation. I reach into my pockets and pull out a vile of SynthNod-Zero from its container
“W-What are you doing?” He shuddered, slowly backing away
“Easy transport, it this or death; anyone can hear us here.”
I disclosed, gazing at him and awaiting a response.
“F-Fine – j-just make it quick,” he shakily concedes. I saunter up to him and grab his arm, injecting the sedative into his vein. His pale and terrified face goes blank as he succumbs to the tranquilizer. Now, the maintenance tunnel should still be empty; I’ll let him have his final peace there. I’m not a monster.
I quickly check the surrounding area and wait for a clearing to carry back the guard and the janitor on my shoulders. I drop the body into an empty container and inject some RevivaClear into the guard, awakening him from his slumber.
“A-Am I alive?” he puzzled, with uncertainty riddling his face
“For now… I’ll give you sixty seconds to make a voice recording, I can’t allow you to call her because she could jeopardize my mission, I’ll send it to her once the jobs done, got it?”
“Y-Yes, t-thank you,” he passed on, right hand trembling into his pocket and dragging out his phone.
“I’ll let you have your peace, just don’t go try running away. One bullet and you’re done for; no final goodbye,” I add, turning around and strolling down the corridor. If I hear that phone ring, I won’t have any mercy; I’m giving him a chance most mercs don’t give you…
While I’m waiting, I should do a quick neural and vocal scan; I have to play the part, know his friends and foes, speak his words…
So far, so good, no running or sneaky phone calls – just a lot of crying. The scan should be done in a couple of seconds…
I take a deep breath in and slowly exhale, poor guy… Sorry, I have to do this. I turn around and gradually mosey to the defeated man slumped on the floor. He gazes at me with no hope in his eyes; I am the reaper…
“P-Passwords “Lylah,” you should know what to do next…” The despondent man mentions, weakly outstretching his phone out to me.
I grasp the phone and slide it into my left pocket, swapping my pistol to my right hand and placing it against his skull.
“I’m sorry,” I concluded, pulling the trigger and ending his life.
His body slouches to the side, slowly bleeding from the bullet wound.
I know I’m a ruthless killer that will do what’s needed for my mission. However, I try to have morals; empathy for people who don’t deserve it. Unfortunately, death is indiscriminate; it’s up to us to bring meaning to the ones we lost…
Back to the mission... I need his identity and clothes; I have to remove them before it gets bloody. After some cleanup and face morphing, I’ve become “Alex Turner,” a twenty-three-year-old security guard working for a HorizionCore shipping branch.
I should be able to enter the security division without a hitch; thankfully, his final message and that vocal scan have given me enough data to make a near-perfect replica of his voice;
puppeteering a dead man…
The coast is clear, and the security entrance is in sight…
“Hey Alex, back again?” the entrance guard probed
“Yeah, I forgot something,” I claimed, reaching into my pocket
“No problem, your id card, please…” I grasp the card and slide it into the reader; with a beep and confirmation from the guard, the door opens to the security section.
I’m in – finding suitable places for these explosives and not being fishy will be hard. I know the kitchen and the locker rooms are my best bet; thankfully, I come packed with surprises… I meander into the kitchen, counting two live ones and, fortunately, a vending machine.
I delve into my pockets and grab a dollar, hiding an Obsidian Shard behind it. As the machine takes the dollar, I close my hand, hiding the explosive; it’s all about acting natural, they’ll never notice I grabbed anything but a dollar. Like a magician.
A bottle of water drops from the machine and awaits my arrival; as I clench the bottle, I casually slip the shard off to the side and retrieve the water. A small victory in the grand scheme of things; however, the security section is a vital piece of infrastructure; I got to plant as many as possible and cripple their chances of surviving.
I sip the water and continue my demolition; the locker room shouldn’t be too far… As I stroll in, I tally five bodies to the left; luckily, my locker should be to the right. I’m just waiting for my luck to run out; something has to go wrong sooner or later. I use the id and unlock the locker, swinging it open and planting a few more charges…
“Hey! Alex, are coming to the party tonight?” a man calls out from the left. I pivot my head to see “Marcus Chen”; that quick neural scan has given me surface-level knowledge of Alex’s Life.
“I might! Can’t promise anything though,” I imparted, setting the last charge in the locker
“Well, if you do, bring some boozes! The more, the merrier!”
he exclaimed, his voice trailing off as he and the small group left the room, letting me continue my act of terrorism.
Now for another surprise, Obsidian Shards — with legs! These little fellows will solve all of my problems; I’ve thought of everything. An age-old classic, the ventilation shaft, these small yet deadly friends were meant for it!
I’ve plotted points for the explosives to plant themselves; they’ll do their crawling while I make it to the heart of this facility. The storage bay, packing area, and all that jazz is below me. I’ll use my favorite friend the maintenance tunnel to get me there…
“See you tomorrow, Alex,” the door guard commented as I exited the security section.
“See you, Olivia,” I responded, whisking away into the maintenance tunnel like a shadow in the darkness… There should be some cramped stairs ahead; they’ll take me to the lower level of the building.
As I tread through the tunnel, the walking Obsidian Shards have set themselves up and are ready to be detonated; still waiting for my luck to run out… I creep down the stairs and survey around with the thermal vision. Clear for now…
The storage bay is up here. It should be reasonably straightforward, keep low, concealed, and quick. Yeah, I’ll take a quick scan, and I’m good to go… This place is lively; you just got to keep sharp and agile – it’s time to move out.
I slip out of the tunnel and start sticking the charges onto the shelves, watching for anybody comi- forklift! Wonder if I can get one on its rear? I maneuver around the mobile machine and stick the Obsidian Shard right on the behind of the unsuspecting forklift.
Alright, enough games; I’ve got more sections to knock out. I cautiously leave the storage bay and enter the parking area, I have four more walking shards, which will come in handy. Cause there are a lot of moving parts here, lots of drones. I’ll save one, just in case…
I carefully prowl around, affixing the charges to various locations, dodging robots, and surveying around for any stray humans…Shit! That behemoth in a suit is here! And he looks like he’s here for business; I need to get the hell out! To The maintenance tunnel!
I silently but hurriedly take my leave into the tunnel; I don’t know if he’s onto me. Nonetheless, I need to get to the boss and get the goods while I still can. The customer stated the item was of utmost importance; I could not leave without it.
I briskly check the map and head for the boss’s office, attempting to keep silent while sustaining my pace, going up a flight of stairs and exiting through a door leading to the hall by the VIP waiting area.
His office should be ahead, and unfortunately, I have no time for subtlety…
I hack open the door and throw in a cortex disruptor to stun the boss from calling in backup; I hastily enter and insert a chip into the boss’s head. The chip contains the Neurocircuitry virus that will shut down his security measure and overload his brain, thus killing him.
I’ve also modified it to retrieve the necessary information to unlock this safe; first, I need his hand. I hack the door shut and drag his body to the safe in the floor, using his hand to unlock the first of many locks.
Next, I need a sixteen-digit code. I request the virus to fetch the code in his brain; I’ve got the fastest fingers in the West. Alright, working so far, now I need another damn code! I do not have time for this!
I continue filling in the bonker amount of passwords on this safe, hoping the next second that daunting titan doesn’t come smashing through. With a charming yet, irritating little jingle, the safe opens, unveiling a suitcase supposedly containing cloning blueprints
They planned to obscure the safe by the normality of a shipping depot and send it away in an armored container. Now it’s mine!
I clip the suitcase to my waist and shatter the window open; as I do, the door bursts off its frame, flying right by me and embedding into the wall, just a little to the left.
“Where do you think you’re going?!” the metal beefcake shouts as he charges into the room.
“Where ever the fuck I want!” I retorted, jumping out the window, tucking and rolling to ease my fall
“No, the fuck your not! Your mine! Fuckface!” he chastised as he leaps out the window.
“Your mother would agree! She quite liked riding my face, you ape!” I gloated, sprinting to the right and attempting to make it to the parking lot ahead
“I’ll show you a fucking ape,” he roared as a compact tug car comes soaring towards the back of my head. I narrowly tuck and slide my body under the flying object as it crumples the side of a poor hover freight.
“You’ve fucking done it now! Do you want to cause a scene?! I’ll show you a fucking dumpster fire, you ugly fat rat!” I bleated out as I signaled the Obsidian Shards to explode. I swivel around to survey the depot bursting in flames and shrapnel with a massive boom.
“You – so many innocent lives… You’re a monster!” he thundered, as two long blades jut out of his forearms.
“You will pay for your sins,” he reprimanded, lunging towards me with ungodly speed. I try dogging to the right, however, his left blade narrowly impales my right side straight through.
“Fuck! That hurts!” I shout out reflexively
“You deserve far worse, but this will do for now,” he exhaled, setting his right blade against my throat. I’ve gotten myself in quite the pickle… Wait a minute; I still have one walking Obsdian Shared Left!
I remotely active the shard and set its target to the apes back
“What’s a big guy like you doing with blades like these? Thought you would have cool minigun hands to close the gap,” I questioned, trying to distract him from the shard
“I don’t need to close any gaps; I make ’em! Your lucking
I can’t do the same!” He boasts as distant cars pull in;
backups here, just my luck.
However, my little distraction worked! The shard is in place!
I signal its activation and use my left hand to keep his right blade from slicing my throat; his giant body helps protect me from the blast, and my SoundSentials help protect my ears from the booming sound.
With my new position of power, I turn us around and use him as a meat shield; as I do, my right hand grabs the Shadowfold X47 and empties a full mag into his skull, pulverizing his brain. I holster the Shadowfold and begin sawing the blade out of the ape’s arm with the WhisperBlades hyper stiletto and a few shots to pierce the metal.
With some panic cutting, I dislodge the blade from the ape and spray my wound with some BioMend; I hope this holds for now! They’re moving in. I rest the ape against me and reload the Shadowfold, I position the gun under his left arm and begin firing at the line of enemies coming my way, a mix of NPPD and Horizon combatants.
This is one massive shit show! A few of them drop, yet they start unloading their guns into the beefcake; he won’t hold for long!
I put away the Shadowfold and try cloaking; it’s a bit obvious with the metal blade stabbed into my side. Nevertheless, it will have to do…
I push the body forward and make a run for it, dodging, weaving, and hell, even jumping. A few bullets hit me, yet I came out somewhat unscathed; they weren’t expecting me to go invisible!
I take cover behind a spare semi-truck and catch my breath.
“Luna, I need the WarWheeler on the left side of the parking lot!”
I phone in, checking my wounds and clenching my arm’s bullet hole.
“Affirmative; I’ll be awaiting your arrival on the left side of the parking lot,” Luna responds, ending the call.
Hurried shuffling spikes my adrenaline and sends me into a mad dash; I leave a smoke grenade behind and sprint for my ride, trying my best to keep low and behind cover. Some of the gunmen split up and start firing from the right. The rest of the mass covers my back; if they get close enough, they’ll pin me in place.
Thankfully the WarWheeler idles with its door ajar, I’m almost there! I take out the ShadowFold and start hip-firing at the adversaries to the right, attempting to break up their line of fire.
I hinder their shooting long enough to continue my charging for the car; however, the attackers behind me get into position and start laying down another crippling amount of bullets.
I’m pinned! Motherfucker, knew this was going to happen
“Luna! I’m stuck here; I need you to come to me!” I radio in, grasping for more BioMend in my pouch.
“On my way, sit tight,” Luna stated, whirring up the car’s engine and veering towards me.
I spray my bullet wounds and continue firing back from cover, giving my best shot at buying time, hoping it hit some poor guy…The car is halfway there! Come on! A little more! I’m coming ho-an enormous mech falls from the sky and slams down on the WarWheeler, crushing it entirely; my last hope…
“Surrender, you have nowhere to go,” a jading robotic voice booms from the corpo beast. I stop and look up in disbelief. A massive flying fortress hangs high above the sky; it’s what dropped this Goliath. This isn’t corpo tech; it’s the military! I’m beyond fucked! I’m quite literally the definition of bad news!
“Quit your gawking and get up,” a powerful female voice asserts,
I look down to see a woman decked out in advanced camo gear with her metal cybernetics clashing against her appearance. My eyes widen as I notice her badge; it’s an Enneagram with wings to the side… A damn Major Command Sergeant, the second-highest rank. I fucking knew it wasn’t my day. Death will be mercy…
“Well, come on! You manage to run around this depot without dying. You have a blade stuck into your side and way too many bullet wounds to be alive; you’re just going to sit there?” she detests, glaring at me like a disappointed mother
“Women, you just shat all over my parade; I was going to get out like a smooth criminal. I was going to keep these scars!” I retort, setting my arms on my knees.
“You can keep the scars. Now stop crying like a bitch and get your ass up. Or I will beat your ass harder than a Mexican mother!” she barked, stepping closer to me; her shadow casting upon me. With a hesitant sigh, I feebly pick myself up, standing face-to-face with her uncaring demeanor shrouding her in mystique.
“How’s the wife?” I asked, locking our eye contact at a standstill
“I’m single,” she informs, still with an unwavering ruthless vigor
“Not surprised,” I add. She lightly scoffs and smirks at the remark; loosening her stance
“Alright, time for business – hands up!” she commands, clearing her face of any emotion.
“Hold up! Question, what the fuck are doing here now?! If these blueprints are top secret, why did you have them out in the open?” I solicited, raising my arms and tilting my head in confusion. Her icy expression turns into a devious smile as her green eyes pierce my soul. She unlatches the briefcase and unveils it in front of my eyes, in lies a piece of paper, it reads:
“Fuck you”
-The Major Command Sergeant, Ava “Steelstorm” Raine
I look up in pure shock; all this work for a piece of paper?
“You’re a fool – you exerted every inch of mastery you’ve taken years to obtain, all for nothing, the eggs on your face,” she beamed.
“W-Why!? W-Why have all this for a piece of fucking paper?!”
I bleated, dumbfounded and defeated.
“Never knew who gave you the job, only got it from a top-dog middleman. You killed everyone in the building without hesitation. You defeated a fearsome general. Not by power, but by wits… You are the blueprints, the perfect soldier. You’ve managed to make your body a canvas, make it the most durable piece of a living organism ever, A combination of man and machine in harmony, you are vital to our upcoming plans…” Ava elaborates, resting her arms.
“Why tell me all of this?” I puzzled in a melancholic tone
“You won’t be able to live to do anything with it,” she disclosed…
“Pack it up boys, package secured!” Ava hollered, relinquishing me of my weapons, cuffing me, and walking me into a Flying Fortress. I do nothing to try to stop it; I’ve been decimated in one second…
We walk up the ramp to the massive aircraft hovering above an average parking lot. Ava leads me to a backroom and secures me on the bench, crossing her arms and resting on a wall…
“W-Wait! The blue phone! I got it from one of the workers there. I allowed him to record his last words; I have to send it to his girlfriend!” I exclaimed in a frenzied haste. Ava glances at me, puzzled. However, she gestures to the soldier carrying my bagged-up items.
She retrieves the phone from the bag and scans it; with an affirmative nod of surprise, she gazes up at me.
“What’s the password?” She contemplated, squinting her eyes and studying my facial expressions
“It’s Lylah!” I anxiously shared, fidgeting in place.
“Ava, he’s stalling for time,” a high-ranking man voices as he steps in, brandishing a sleek but stereotypical “badass” look
“I don’t care; no backup of his is going to stop us…
I don’t mind a bit of action” she uninterestedly replies, curiously looking at the phone.
“Well, of course, you’d like some action,” he remarks, crossing his arms and straightening his posture. Ava glances at him in disdain, murder in her eyes
“Watch it, buddy,” she condemns, continuing her inspection
“Yeah! Go lick some donkey balls and get the fuck out!” I chastised, crossing my metaphorical arms. Ava softly snickers, howbeit Donkey Balls’ gaze snaps to me in irritation.
He steps up to me and scolds me with his glare.
“Listen here! You mother-” Before he can finish his sentence, I bite the finger he’s using to reprimand me. I sink my teeth in till I taste blood, sawing at his finger as I do. He promptly pulls away and decks me with the same hand.
I laugh maniacally and spit his blood back in his face
“Go sit on a pole and spin, donkey balls!” I rejoiced, shaking his limp dick hit off. Ava’s contained laugh breaks out as she tries to cover it up with her hand. Donkey Balls’ glances at her and shakes his head in wrath, exiting the room.
“Alright, I-I sent it – uh, we got to get moving.” She places the phone back in the bag and looks back at me.
“Uh, I-I didn’t expect you to actually do this – y-you do have morals…” she hesitated with unprecedented anxiety
“Well, you said to “kill them all,” so I did…” I passed on, leaning back in my seat.
“T-That was the Head Major… He wanted to test if you had what it takes, to be the necessary evil.” Ava informs, staring at the floor; eyes darting around…
“Guess I passed with flying colors…”
The Flying Fortress begins to lift as I ponder my situation…
What’s next? Any more rabbits I can pull out of my magician’s hat?
