Chapter 1: One night stand
It was cold Friday night, cold to the point where my nipples felt like they could cut glass. But it can’t be helped, I was wearing a deep shade of blue that is rich and bold, and a backless design that revealed a graceful expanse of skin. The cut of the dress form-fitting, skimming the curves of my body and highlighting my best assets.

I was naive enough to not wear a warm jacket or swetter, and now I’m doing the awkward run, trying not to fall with these saledo heels and while holding my boobs because the up and down motion hurts more than a bitch. Giveing me flashbacks to the growing pains I got in high school.
I got into the restaurant, and I straight away. I saw Selena; she was gorgeous even more than myself, if I do say so myself, She wore a hot pink slip dress and dyed her hair a muted brown with icey blond streaks that looked incredible with her brown glowing skin. she ran over to me with her arms stretched out and a big smile on her face, showing her perfectly white I ran over to her, so happy to see her after being apart for over 4 years.
“Oh my god, Gabrielle, I’m so happy to see you.” Selena said hugging me tight, and I hugged her back, smelling her vanilla perfume.
“Yah, it’s been way to long, girl; I missed you.” She smiled brightly at my words, and then we went to our table and took a seat. After ordering, we started to catch up.
“So what are you up to these days?” I asked animatedly.
"Well, you know ” Selena started to say flipping her hair off her shoulder. ” I wanted to save this for later, but you brought it up so I got a job at a fashion design company here in Philadelphia.”
“What where?!” I say with wide eyes, not caring about the noise we’re making in this restaurant.
“Empire fashion house.” Selena said, covering her humongous smile. Empire Fashion House is one of the biggest fashion companies in Philadelphia, but I’m not surprised that she got a job there. Selena has always been amazing with fashion, winning so many awards by the time she was 16. When we were in high school, as a past time, she would design costumes for the theater kids, but later we were separated after she got accepted to a fashion School in New York. I moved to Philadelphia with my older brother, and ever since, we’ve tried to keep in contact, but it's was hard.
“Do not lie to me right now.” I said I barely believed it.
“I’m not, I swear, I’m so excited I start Monday.”
"Damn that soon?”
“I know, I’m working as a stylist for the models, and I was told that one of my designs have been put into consideration.”
"Selena, I’m so happy for you.” I say, my eyes softening, genuinely feeling happy for her.
“Thank you; I’ve been working so hard for this, and it’s right within my grasp, and I’m not going to let go. So how about you, girl?” Honestly, I didn’t know what to say. I work as an accountant; compared to her job, it’s not really anything fancy, but I do get amazing benefits and free healthcare, which is always good, I guess?
“I’m an accountant.”
“Really?” I nod my head, feeling a bit shy. ”You’ve always been good at that stuff; I was always trash. The most math I do in my line of work is measurements.
"It’s not that fancy.”
"Who cares if it’s fancy? I remember seeing on your Insta when we were both like 19, you got your own apartment just by doing your taxes by yourself, and that’s crazy work. You could have ended up owing the government a lot of money, but because you’re smart instead, you got a big ass apartment. Well, I was a starving artist. That’s crazy.” Black people cannot blush, but right now I feel like I just did. I forgot how encouraging she was.
“Okay, okay, no more flattery; you’re embarrassing me.” I said covering my face.
“Okay, fine, I need to go to the bathroom anyway.” Selena got up and left with a smile still plastered on her face, and I sat there smiling to myself. I then looked up and saw a guy, no, a man, from another table staring at me in the dimness of the restaurant.
He had black wavy chin long hair and a well-groomed gotee, with piercing warm brown eyes that convey warmth and intelligence. He had a sharp jawline and high cheekbones, paired with a confident and charming smile. His skin was a warm, golden-brown complexion, and he was dressed in a stylish navy blue suit with his button down showing just a bit of his chest and a white pocket square.
He is one of the most beautiful men I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Oh, I swallowed my saliva, suddenly feeling parched. I grabbed my cup of wine, took a sip, and looked back at him, seeing him size me up. I bit my lip and pressed my legs together to relieve the pressure building not just in the air but down there.
____
I wake up with my head hurting slightly from being tipsy last night. I rub the crust out of my eyes, feeling groggy, I then run a hand through my braids, scolding myself internally for not wearing my bonnet.
I’m going to have to curl it all over again if it’s all frizzy now.
I then push myself off the bed, but I’m quickly pulled down. I look over my shoulder at a very handsome naked sleeping man, His muscular arms bulge as he pulls me closer to him and he nestles his head in my neck. His hair is pulled back in a half-up, half down style that only makes him look even hotter. Internally, I’m now completely freaked out, remembering the events that happened last night. I wonder to myself.
How the hell am I going to get out now?
I look over the room that we’re in; it looks like a hotel; everything is clean, white, and sleek. Then I see my dress on the floor next to the bed. I tried to pry his hands off of me, but every time he would end up hugging me tighter, his manhood grazing my leg from time to time, reminding me how big and thick it was, I was almost tempted to stay in his warm embrace and do what we did last night again, but I remember that I have a lot of work to do. After a few attempts, I finally get him off of me, replacing where I was with a large pillow. He grips the pillow, rubbing the side of his beautiful, perfectly sculpted face on it.
In a hurry, I pick up my shoe from the side of the bed and my dress. I then look around the room for my other one and see it in the corner of the room, forgotten. I was about to leave the bedroom when I heard a grown, I looked back, thinking he might have woken up, but he just shifted on the bed. I took another long look at him, then I remembered his name, Arjun, I’ve been walked out softly, closing the door with a click.
