Ésta es la historia de dos jóvenes estudiantes de psicología, que para su proyecto de grado deciden realizar un estudio sobre "Las máscaras del hombre ante la sociedad". Ellos en el transcurso de la trama se van conociendo y van forjando una amistad. Liliana está dispuesta a descubrir lo que hay detrás de la máscara de "felicidad absoluta" de Misael, y lo ayudará a deshacerse de ella y a abrir paso a su verdadera personalidad que por diferentes razones había estado oculta.
