Preface
As the wind blew through my bangs, I smiled taking in the fresh cold air, not bothering at all to adjust my open hair.
My handsome alpha galloped through the empty road. To be honest I wasn’t even aware where my new friend was heading off to, as my eyes were closed reminiscing about the moment when all of a sudden I heard a sound that had me gasping in shock and fear, and seconds later I was on the ground groaning in pain.
I turned my eyes to see the horse standing next to me, looking at me as if he was upset to see my condition.
Even though I only met the fierce animal and befriended him some hours ago, we seemed to have formed a bond. I let out a sigh.
I was angry at the realization of someone else’s presence and the cause of my fall.
I snapped my eyes in the direction and saw another horse, a black one. As my angry gaze went up it was then I was met with what I would be calling him in the future - The Darklord.
And indeed he was, eyes as black as coal was staring at me with a perilous gaze as if he was pissed off. Now why was he?
When I should be the one angry at the man for coming in front of me with his horse and making my horse stumble which resulted in me losing my balance.
Anyway, I should have listened when I was told not to take off the horse’s halter and the lead that was attached to it, but what could I have done?
All I wanted was for the poor thing, to experience the same level of freedom as myself.
After glaring back at the man aka Darklord with the same intensity, like hell I would let a man intimidate me. I removed my eyes off of him and decided to get back up and that was when I knew he got down.
I smirked under the satin scarf which was wrapped around my mouth preventing him from seeing me. I hissed in pain before trying to get back on my legs.
I sensed my wounded arm. While he stood tall right beside me with a scrutinizing gaze not even offering me a hand of help.
I looked back at him as our gazes locked for the second time. I noticed his eyes stopping on my bleeding arm.
His hand rose to remove the scarf but I took a step back from him causing him to frown for a minute and then I saw him casually put his hand inside his pocket before pulling out a white handkerchief as he extended it toward me.
I waited for him to speak but he didn’t so I said nothing as well until he clutched onto my right arm.
“Take it.”
He uttered as I narrowed my eyes at him. I was about to respond when,
“Sonia!”
To hear my name, I turned back.
