Chapter 1

I woke up with a massive headache. There was a lot of screaming last night, and I couldn’t bare it, I had to run into my room and turn my stereo up to 100. So I ended up having a throbbing headache for most of the night.

I walked into the bathroom and stared at my reflection, taking in my tired red eyes, and my tear stained cheeks. I breathed in and out as I took my pajamas off and stepped into the shower. After a warm 10 minute shower, I blow dried my hair quickly. And then I got into a pair of shorts, and slipped into a purple top.

‘’Hey’’ I mumble, as I walk into the kitchen, grabbing a piece of buttered toast as I slipped my feet into some sandals. ‘’Good morning sis’’ Grace wrapped her arm around my waist. I smile, hearing the bus honking outside ‘’Okay, I have to go’’ I ran out the door screaming ‘’Bye’’ as I rushed out the door with my back pack hanging off one of my shoulders, running down the steps and to the bus waiting outside my house.

I climb aboard slowly and sit on the seat nearest to the door, hoping Ted would leave me alone. But just what I didn’t want to happen, Ted sits next to me a few seconds after I sit down. I groaned loudly ‘’leave me alone Ted’’

‘’Why babe’’ he said playing with my hair as I tried to get as far away from him as possible, but it was pretty hard considering we were on the same seat, and he was blocking my way to get out. ‘’Is there a problem ted?’’ I heard a voice to my left, I look up and see my best friend Elle standing next to Ted. She glares at Ted ‘’Get away from Emily, you creep’’ She hisses. He jumped up and ran to another seat. ‘’You okay?’’ she asked, staring at me. ‘’I’m fine’’ I said, trying a smile, but it failed and my smile turned into a frown. She stared at me ‘’Okay, its Friday, we’re going to Adrianna’s for a sleepover, I know your sad, we can talk about it tonight’’ She whispered, grabbing me into a comforting hug. ‘’Do I have to go to school?’’ I whispered into Sabrina’s hair. She whispered back to me ‘’Yes, but I’ll see you later’’

When the bell rang for the first lesson, I walked into English and saw that the teacher wasn’t there yet, so I sat in a seat that was behind Hunter Daniel’s, the guy I had a crush on since he moved here in 6th grade. I stared at the front of the room, waiting for the teacher to come in, when Hunter turned around and looked at me ‘’Hey, your name is Emily, right?’’ He asks. I stare back at him, having a mini heart attack ‘’Um...yes’’ I say, more as a question than a statement. He nodded, staring at me for a few more seconds, and then he turned back around as our teacher walked in. That was really weird. I take out my phone, making sure no one could see it, and typed a message to Elle and Sabrina, and I decided I couldn't really trust Adrianna much because we only met a few weeks ago I don’t sent a message to her.

‘Meet me at my locker" I sent the text.

When class ended, I rushed down the hall to meet Elle and Sabrina at my locker. Elle was standing at my locker smiling, and Sabrina looked impatient as she waits for me to get to my locker. ‘’So?’’ Elle asked. I smile, and shrug ‘’It was nothing, Hunter Daniels just talked to me in English that’s all’’ I turn my head acting like it was nothing, but inside I was bursting with happiness. ‘Oh my gosh!’’ Elle screamed, and Sabrina just smiled. ‘’So, what did he say to you?’’ Sabrina says. I just looked at her and shrugged ’’not much, he just said ‘hey, your Emily right?’ and then when I said yes he just turned back around, what the heck, what does that even mean?’’ I said, clearly annoyed. Elle looked at me ‘’Maybe someone mentioned you in a conversation, and he was wondering who you were?’’ She said. I looked down awkwardly, why are people talking about me? Did I do something, maybe I did something embarrassing and awkward and I didn’t even notice. That was the end of the conversation, because our bell went for our next lesson.
