THE ARRIVAL

I could feel beads of sweat trailing down my face, my hands clammy and legs shaking as I anticipated what my life would be in this college. Well, ever since the unfortunate accident which took my mom away, everything had gone downward. Whatsoever joy that was in my family vanished, my dad worked 24/7 just to take his mind off the pain.

He has been recently dating a fellow colleague who was divorce and had two kids, both being twins. My dad called my name snapping me from whatever trance I was in and i got back to this present life. The guard at the gate stopped the vehicle whereby asking for my enter slip. I immediately rummaged my pocket and showed the guard my enter slip thinking about how weird he was behaving.

When my father finally entered the premises, I was awed with the beauty of the campus, it was by far the most beautiful college I'd ever seen in my life not that I've been to many colleges. Tall buildings scattered all around all painted in either black or white which gave out a mysterious vibe.

I had mixed feelings to actually bein this new college. I immediately unloaded my luggage from the trunk as my dad parked in the parking lot.

"Well I guess this is it dad", I said

"Don't forget to call me as soon as you get settled in", my dad advised me

"Don't worry dad, I'm not a baby anymore"

"Dad, I don't want to have this conversation again, okay"

"Okay, no problem"

"Bye dad"

"Bye, take care of yourself darling"

My dad entered the car and zoomed off, I stood there as I watched the car get farther and farther till i couldn't see the car anymore.
