Maybe this time

i don't know when it had began but everything, started to spiral and before i knew it, i was in a western country, homeless, penniless and with no way of contacting my family. the rain was coming down hard and i had only a thin jacket on.

i couldn't speak English and i wished i had taken the class when best friend asked me take it with him, at the time i had thought that maybe we will always be together and i won't need to learn it, he could do all the talking for me.

"hey, are you okay?" i heard mandarin, i looked up surprised.

The elderly couple looked at me with concern, and the old women was the one who asked me the question, the elderly man next to her was looking at me with concern, the umbrella they are holding covering them from the rain.

"can you please help me" i asked hoping they won't turn me away.

"come on lets get you out of the rain.'' the women said and her husband helping me up as they brought me down the block and into the small house.

the elderly women had let me used the bathroom and had given me clothes from the youngest grandson. i was glad that the clothes had fitted, i looked in the mirror this is the first time i had bathed in months and some of the bruises looked nasty but didn't hurt anymore.

I had learned that life on the streets was hard and if you don't fight, a lot of shit can be done to you and you could end up dead, for the past 4 years, i fended for myself, wishing i was back home with my grandpa and best friend.

Fuck, i hated my so called parents and the fucking so called eldest son of theirs.

I got out of the bathroom and walked to the living room, where i found the couple sitting together, on the couch watching the news.

The elderly man saw me first, and gestured to the couch by the other side, and went to sit down. he turned the volume low.

"we can't let you stay here for free kid, so my son runs a restaurant 3 blocks from here, i called and asked him if he is willing to take you in, he agreed as long as you start learning English, you will work in the back with the cooks and have to work your way up. got it?" he said, i nodded didn't thin they would go that far for me, i gave a deep bow.

My grandfather came to mind, as i sat and talked with the old couple and told them how i had come to be here and for how long i was on the street and what i had gone through. he granny looks too sad and the grandpa looked a bit livid.

"your an idiot, but no one deserves that for they mistakes" he said patting me on my shoulder, as he got and gestured for me to follow him and showed me to the guest bedroom.

"You can stay here, and when you have everything sorted out return home and katow in front of your grandfather and apologize for being and idiot, okay" i smiled cause he said like i was his grandson, and he was gently scolding me for being too stupid and too young to know better and in my case that was the truth. i nodded and walked into the room.

The room was spacious and light blue with beige as a theme and the bed felt really comfortable, for the first time in 4 years, i was sleeping on a bed. my eyes sting as thoughts about my grandfather and my best friend came to mind. my grandfather's gentle voice and my best friends shino's crazy idea's that would always get us in trouble. i closed my eyes and willed the images away, this is what i get for ignoring shino's warnings and for really talking to my grandfather about what i really felt.

So i thought about my hateful family, my dad's contempt eyes and my mother's indifference, and that bastard that called me his younger brother. when i get back i will not rest until i get my revenge against them and watch them crumble, until they are under my feet.

I wrapped the blankets around me and shut my eyes for the first time i don't ave to be on high alert, that someone was gonna jump me while i am asleep. I can finally and truly rest.
