where you left me

I’ve been rejected before, but not like this

“I’m flattered but no thanks” usually all it was

But oh how the wound is so deep,

Knife twisted under flesh,

When it’s the one you loved, body & soul,

And who loved you back.

Now I’m stuck, missin you

Wishin you could see

All I’ll ever be

is right where you left me

Now I beat my steering wheel

drivin the roads we used to drive together

Tear stained cheeks, can’t see thru the floodgates;

Maybe I’ll lose control & hit the curb

Cuz I’m screamin and cryin and cursin your name

Cuz I thought this time you’d stay

Not sure where we went wrong

Or what to do with this hurt

All this pain in my chest,

All the guilt on your shoulders

Questioning our love when I know it ain’t fickle

And now I’m stuck, missin you

Wishin you could see

All I’ll ever be

is right where you left me
