Introduction

Jaime -

The day we all dreaded has come...the day my father, Darren Smithers, decided to retire. Dad built an empire in the middle of downtown Titan City, Washington that he called Smithers Tower (or just the tower as we all call it). A huge 20-story building full of offices, every possible profession you can imagine is located within this massive structure. This plan of building a huge legacy would not be complete without making sure that me and my five brothers were all included in dear old dad's plans.

There are six of us Smithers boys. All of us have a private office on the 20th floor of Smithers Tower, which is also equipped with sleeping rooms and a small kitchen in case we are ever needing a place to crash for the night. I am Jaime Smithers, and I am the oldest of the Smithers sons. I am a very successful lawyer, and my firm is on the 19th floor of the tower. I have a couple of managing partners, but the rest of the firm is made up of clerks, paralegals and associate attorneys. It is a well-oiled machine, and it has made me a very rich man.

I am a 35-year old single man. Been engaged twice, but never made it down the aisle. I'm not saying that I am the perfect potential husband, but my two ex-fiancés were both gold diggers. I guess in hindsight, I'm thankful that their true intentions came out before we tied the knot because I don't think I ever really loved them. I date a lot, but it is mostly just so I can get laid...which happens more frequently than I would like to admit. I have no children either, which I am double thankful for because I don't really see myself as a "kid person". My middle brother, Nathan, has four kids and he is only 25. I am so grateful that I don't have that in common with him. But, I'll let my brothers all introduce themselves to you when it is their time to talk. Until then, let's see how my life is about to unfold for you.

Miranda -

I'm Miranda. Simple, 20-year old small town girl, Miranda. "Never gonna find anything for you in that big city, Miranda" was the last thing I heard as I was fleeing from my mother's home in New Mexico. She had remarried after my dad died when I was 14 and my sister was 12. Earl is his name. Well Earl liked to pretend that me and my younger sister were his personal little servants when my mom wasn't around. My younger sister, Addison, was two years younger than. Yes, I said was. Because of Earl, my sister took a gun and shot herself in the front yard of our house on her 14th birthday. She left a letter telling my mom about how Earl had been molesting us, and how he would hit us or burn us with his cigarettes. My mom cried and asked me if it was all true, but when I showed her my scar covered back, she accused me and Addison of scheming so she would lose "the only person to ever really love her". She took Earl's side over that of her children. I worked extra hard in school so I could graduate a year early from high school, and as soon as I had enough cash to leave, I told her and Earl that I was leaving and never coming back. That was almost 3 years ago.

I have had my struggles, that is for sure. But I know that I have Addison watching over me, and she is guiding me where I need to be...I have to believe in that or else I may go crazy most days. I don't have time for dating. I am focused on getting my college degree, and working. I bounce around with different temp-employment places, but the pay is always amazing and I get to learn something new at each place they send me. I love it really. Nothing set in stone, each day is lived to the max. I have such a carefree spirit, that sometimes I wonder if that will ever be a drawback for me. But I am young, so what does it matter really.

Today, the Temp-to-Career employment agency is sending me to Smithers Towers. The Towers. The scariest looking building in downtown Titan City. It is rumored that only the most cut-throat business people work in that building. If you work in that building, you are someone important, someone not to be messed around with, someone with skills to crush someone like me. That's the rumors though. I guess today is my day to find out if those rumors are true or if I'll get to cut my path in that massive place.
