Prologue: In Sunshine And In Shadow

Prologue

In Sunshine And In Shadow

2023 8am

The plane jecked angrly and the first thing she heard was her own raging heart beating. Deafening her own ears. Then she heard the screams.

Words of a flight attendant saying"Stay calm, please remain calm" " remain in your seats". The flight attendant was sweating and shacking and Liziuzayani saw.

At that moment, she remembered her home in Malawi and how her mom always smiled every time her mom saw her. "Liziu my favourate daughter". Liziu knew her mom couldnt have it another way bacause she was an only child. If anything were to happen, it would tore her mom apart. Her Dad was never in the picture, literary. He was a foreign man that married her mom to get a citizenship in Malawi.

All of a sadden, In her seat she started to beat herself up, angry at herself. 'This is how it's going to end' she spoke in her mind. If only she had not taken the job like her mom had said, she would have been at home enjoying her mother's famous drink, Thobwa. But she just couldn't turn blind. Not when she had realised that fraud was taking place in the company she worked for.

She had informed the head qauters in south africa that she will have to present all her finding with all the evidence. Something told her not say anything bit there she was in a burning plane going to South Africa.

When another exploision was heard her mind remembered the currect situation. There was no telling to stay calm. The plane started to spin, just below the plane was a sea of water. Liziu mind started racing from jumping to the water to accepting the inevitable fate. They were all going to die. Right on the cue another exploison sparked. It sounded more like a bomb and less of an engine failure.

Fire had already started discending from the front part where the pariots were. A man that Liziu had not noticed crawled near and grabbed her leg.

"Take this" he said, handing her a peice of material. The man's hand were shivering. Liziu carefully, unwraped the peace of material and saw a parashoot. 'this guy wants to send to me to the grave earlier than now' she thought. "They want you dead, they framed you! a bomb! Bomb. take this" continued the man. Clearly he was not thinking straight because it was just a matter of seconds before....and she was pushed off of the plain without knowing what did. In this case, it was a who.

She saw a man falling down and she saw that she was also falling down. "The company you were working for did this!" The man screamed. 'Seriously, what is wrong with guy. I am about to die and he is busy talking about...' Liziuzayani thought. It it was the same man. She thought she was dreaming because everything seemed like a dream.

"The things you were snooping in, someone is willing to kill a whole bunch of poeple just to shut you up. Click here" the man demostrated and a parashoot discended and she saw the plane  had completely disintegrated.

She turned her eyes to where the man had shown. Tears were falling down, she could see clearly but she heard a hit. She returned her gaze to the falling man only to see an unmoving body his stomach deeped with a burnt metal. She was sure he was dead too.

She stared, not taking her eyes off. Her mind was screaming 'its all your fault' repeatedly. 'All of this was her faulted'. She saw it thst way. She felt her body land on mass of water. Water started to get into her mouth, her nose and ears. She tried to fight them off but she was guity , she thought it was time to stop fthe water rapped her between its hold and it pulled her down.

It was in the afternoon and the sun had only remained in the waters colouring where the sky kissed the ocean with a burning red and orange.

It was not new to Mandla. It was a pleasant sight. This way he could think. His grand mother had said he had been doing a lot of thinking or she said that all that was remaining was to bring a wife home.

He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to shut down all the awful thoughts and just breathe. His eyes opened and stared at the ocean. There was something by the edge of the ocean Something floating. Something humen. "That's weird, I didn't see that" he mummered to himself. His long legs races towards the shore. His bare feet deeping in the sand leaving trails of feet prints that would soon be erased by the wind and the sea.

His feet moved and within a second he was standing staring at a human, a female human. "Are you breathing" He asked. He bent down and just stared. Questions were frashing in his mind. He has seen humans before but there was something about this one. Maybe it was how she looked on tge edge of dead. "How did she get frashed out here"  He tested with his two fingers on her neck to see if their was a pulse. He felt a very faint pulse.
