πChapter Oneπ
Muse's Point Of View
I bumble around the thickened pink woods, bark of dark maroon easily peeling of by a touch. My feet were bare and unprotected as I prance and dance along the mush moss covered forest floor. I click a button to play music from the radio I held as I swung around.
Their was no reason for me of all things to be happy. No reason at all. But I was because I couldn't be sad. For the moment I become sad is the moment I despair, and nothing could help me up from that. Nothing. Why?
Because their was nothing left. Not a single human soul was left to roam this planet. Not after the explosion decades ago. The ones who survived the explosion of Area 51 were little. Ones to come after like me, were even less.
So after decades, the human lives left naturally began to dwindle. And all that was left was me. All alone on this warped planet called Earth. The only Earth I've ever known was this one. Multi-colored trees, blue grass, large animals that were once small, and me.
I was apart of this weird world. With my white hair, pale skin, and the ability to tame any animal I come across. Maybe even some other things I would probably never experience. It might sound like something out of a movie, a movie I've never gotten to see in my lifetime. Instead I'm apart of it.
The movie with an ending. That's what it would come to with only I as it's last human lifeform. It's quite a sad story, but I had no time to be sad when I could be happy instead with the life I had currently.
So after I had gotten over the death of my last human companion, I was happy. At least for a short while, before the pain of being alone hurt more than anything ever had, which was little since I healed very fast. I was happy, then I was sad, because I am all alone.
My heart still aches, but I put on a smile and instead occupy myself with things I find interesting, today it was a box called a Radio. My mother had told me about it, and the songs booming from it.
It was a whimsical device, it often made me happy. It was little and pink, perfect to hold in my hand, and it gave out a great melody that me and my Mother often danced to.
Dancing was a fun thing to do as well. I was especially feeling sad today so I did both things at once! What a treat I gave myself! Dancing and singing with my pink Radio gave me great happiness. I can even smile wide!
So as I stepped, pranced, twirled and danced, I sang and smiled. Today was a day I would be happy! Happy brought comfort, and comfort was something I always enjoyed. Mother often said comfort was like having a companion by you all of the times of the days.
I liked comfort, but thinking about a companion often made me frown, so I didn't think about comfort. Instead I had comfort with happy things. Like my Radio!
A loud howl shook the birds from their perch and flew them into the dark blue sky. Today was a day I would get to see my friends! Mother said friends were companions, so I guess I should not complain of having no companions, for I had many.
My companions each had a name. I have a name too! Mother named me very well, father did too. But I didn't know father all that well.
Binnyar came up to me first today. He was the happy puppy of all of my friends. He was big and large with yellow-white fur. Binnyar was a large wolf, he had been birthed long after the explosion, as did my other friends.
Binnyar was happy to see me, his tail told me so, but not really. Binnyar couldn't speak like a human, because he was a wolf! A very happy wolf, and a very special friend to me. Binnyar often played with me when I was frowning, because he knows when I frown I am not feeling right.
So with Binnyar I especially know to smile so he would not be sad. I do not like making things sad, it also makes me sad. So I am very good at making things happy. Happy is what Mother taught me to express a lot. Without happy, or happiness, Mother would not be happy. Even with mother gone, I would never want her whispers to be sad.
She told me whispers would be with me when she is gone. I have yet to see a whisper. Even so, I am very happy! I may not know the full meaning of happy since mother had left me to teach myself things. But I do know happy is to smile, so I smile even at the Caterpillars.
I have many things to smile at. Many things to be thankful for, and many things to be frowning to. I never have frowned at the thought of my mother, but it would make my heart sad. I never like being sad.
The Radio buzzed to life and boomed with it's music. I stepped over some littler life forms, and pranced along to my home, even happier with my companion with me.
"Binny have you ever wanted to fly?" You ask, looking up at the large wolf, it was easily double your size and more. The wolf kept happily swaying it's tail and leaned down only a little when he noticed my gaze. "I want to fly, I think I would be happy to fly with the birds." I talk with Binnyar like I would with a human, even though he cannot speak back.
"I wish we could fly away from here." My heart hurts again. "Maybe we could find more, I don't know what more of, anything would make me happy. I just want more. Don't you think so Binny?" I was frowning, Binny knows my frown means sadness. Binny doesn't like my sadness.
Binny kept his pretty golden eyes on me, and gently nudged for me to stop my prancing. I breathed in a big bunch of air, as much as I could take, then let it all out. I was better now. "Thank you Binny." Binny hadn't done anything other than stop me to breathe, but I'd like to think he did something.
After my frown I once again started my happy dance to my home. My Radio played loudly a song that went quiet to loud. I often liked this song. I sang the song with a happy heart, my smile made my happiness grow even more ad I danced.
I danced and danced, twirled and danced. Down the blue grass hill and onto flat grass. The pink trees happily sang along with me as the wind breeze with them. "Oh darlin' all of the city lights, never shine as bright as your eyes~" More of your large wolf companions joined you, howling along without a clue as to what I was doing.
But they were happy with me, and I was happy with them. Until a clunk and boom vibrated behind me. I quickly spun around, expecting it to be an animal, so I was not scared. It was not an animal, he, was not an animal. He wasn't a human either. But he was a companion, he was like me, but wasn't.
His skin was a pretty light grey, and his eyes were bright blue with short black hair and big black horns on the sides of his head behind his long pointy ears. He was far from human, but I didn't know much of humans anyway. So as I stood in awe, my heart hurt and tears that tasted sweet, rolled down my cheeks.
I was not sad, but my heart hurt like it was. My heart shook like it was, and my breath came out like it was. My lungs sucked in air, and before I knew It I was running toward him. He was absolutely breathtaking like any other creature was. Yet somehow his beauty felt more than my awe for a creature.
My heart beat rapidly in my body, and then I stopped not too far from him. My hands were by my side, wingers spread out. I had forgotten how to greet a human. Surely he would not want to be hugged, maybe a human would, but it may be a surprise for such a beautifully new creature.
He stood in awe of me too, as if not expecting my presence. My hands ached to hug him, he could be my companion, the one I've wanted all along since my mother's death. "C-can I- can I hug you?" I opened my arms up, showing what I wanted. My heart hurt as it beat, the man (?) In front of me stood without an answer, but it seemed he understood, so he nodded.
"A pawi lo naupang, tap a ngai lo. A tha khawp mai." He purred, his expression softened.
[It's okay little one, no need to cry. It is alright.]
That was an okay. Okay meant It was alright. So I ran with all of my tiny body's might and hugged him with my shaking figure. My wails racked at my body and chilled the warm air.
'There was someone! I was not alone!'
That thought alone had my heart happy, but my body sad. I wasn't alone! This creature that had the larger body of a man, had shown up in a giant egg with wings of a bird. This creature was real, and I could feel him. I could hug him, and he can comfort me. I do like being comforted. The happiness blooming from my chest as he softly pat my head and rubbed my back, was prominent as day.
I wasn't alone anymore.
