Fundraiser
It was 7am in the morning or so i thought, i had been awake for a few minutes now but i couldn't bring myself to open my eyes neither could i go back to sleep as much as i wanted to. I had stayed awake all night binge watching the 'Scream' series which probably was a bad idea but in my defense i couldn't go to sleep which as of recent had become a norm for me and i was beginning to get worried because last i checked i only had medication for panic and anxiety not insomnia. I felt a light shove on my arm and decided that it was finally time to get up.
My eyes flutter open trying to adjust to the bright light coming from the window and is met with the all too familiar face of Melanie 'my mother'.
"Rise and shine Cassie".
"Goodmorning Mum" I say letting out a throaty laugh and seating upright settling my back on the headboard.
"We're gonna be late if you don't get your ass up right now". I groan
"I'm still so tired, can i have just 5 minutes more"
"Nope...get up"
"You're so cruel"
"Be quick i don't want to be late". She says as she places a kiss on my forehead and makes her way out of my room.
I get up, quickly take a shower, perform my 5 minutes morning routine while throwing on a jean gown with lot of pockets and pairing it with a white canvas. I walk over and give myself a once-over. My hair was a combination of my mum's blonde hair and my dad's brunette. It wasn't the only thing that was weird about me though as i had two different eye colours, one being my mum's silvery blue eyes and the other being my dad's emerald green. I took one last glance at myself and made my way downstairs.
"Why aren't you in your uniform?" Mum says as she places a plate of toast and omlets in front of me
"We have a fundraiser event today so we don't really need uniforms ". I say with my mouth stuffed with toast. I grab my school bag.
"Take your meds before you leave!" She shouts as i make my way to the door.
"I'll take it at school!" I say getting into the car of my driver Leonard and heading of to school.
I alight from the car after bidding Leonard goodbye and as i walk into the hallways, i feel someone grab my left arm and look sideways i see the bright face of my best friend 'Stacie'
"Hey Stace"
"Hi Sandy, how was your weekend?" We walk over to my locker and she lets go of my hand as i start to open the padlock.
"Boring, you?"
"I went over to help my grandma with a garage sale"
"Okayyy".
"What do you have planned for the fundraiser?"
"I'm waiting on the guests"
"Great! That means your going to be meeting some real cuties, i heard that the boys from Oakfield high school are hot!"
"I heard that they're just a bunch of stuck up assholes and i have a boyfriend".
"Boyfriend my ass".
"Look i don't know what your problem with Ryder is but he's sweet". She rolls her eyes after hearing my comment, I and Ryder had been dating for a year now but for some silly reason him and Stacie didn't relate well with each other. I shut my locker, grab her arm and we both make our way to our homeroom.
