Chapter 1

Something weird started to happen. Bobby was standing in one spot and he had been talking to a new person and then the area just started to spin and he then felt funny and a few seconds later he noticed that he was in a new area and possibly a new world. There was something new about this area. It was very dark but looked exactly like the area he had been in. Had he been thrown into an alternate reality? What would you call an alternate gameworld reality? GameWorld Earth – 2? Bobby began to walk around the area.

“Skate?, Jasmine, Surge?” He called out and the only answer that he was getting was his voice echoing and bouncing back to him. Great, his crew wasn’t here. So who was here and where was here? He noticed a road, a paved road. That was strange and he wondered where it lead. His curiosity usually got him in trouble and it’d probably get him into even more trouble. He got a weird feeling, a case of dejavu like he had been here before bu the knew for a fact that this was the first time he had ever been here.

Now where could this paved road lead to? Hopefully a town and he needed an answer like where the hell he was and how he got here. Was it the same technology that brought him to GameWorld that brought him here? He think he fell into an alternate version of GameWorld but he couldn’t prove that right now. Another thing was weird, he was dressed in human looking clothes. This was a bit strange. Was he needed here? Was this why he had been pulled here? He wondered if there were normal drinks here.

“Shit.” those were the only words he could muster up. He was hoping that he would have arrived in a world where he was going to be a human again, yeah, he would be human when he got back to his world and he was assuming that this wasn’t his world. He noticed a road and it had asphalt on it. He wasn’t walking on grass or dirt anymore. He started walking on the road and he could see a town in the distance. It was very feint and hazy, that might just be his vision trying to adjust to this new world.

So if there was a town which meant there had to be inhabitants and maybe he could get some answers when he found his way into the town. He walked towards the town and it was silent. Usually he could hear something. Like the buzzing of energy, or something flying around or even a small animal approaching him. There was nothing here, no sound. He didn’t like that. There was something wrong here, it felt like he had entered a really bad horror or sci-fi movie. He continued to walk, the town was getting bigger and that meant he was getting closer.

As the town got more clear to him he noticed there was a store. It looked like a run down 7-11. So there had convenient stores in this world, how convenient. He walked for a few more minutes and he then approached the store. The outside and inside of the store looked dark. He walked up to the front of the store and it had one of those automated sliding doors and the door was sliding open and closed and it looked like it was getting jammed on some unseen object or force. He looked into the store, he could see there were snacks still on the shelves and a cooler that was by one of the registers. Was it stocked and still cold? He didn’t know.

“This is going to hurt.” He balled up a fist and he watched the automated door to try and close again and he then just hit the door as hard as he could. There was the sounds of breaking glass and pieces of broken glass got lodged into his fist. He looked down at his fist and noticed he was bleeding and he took his free hand and picked out all the glass and he watched the door finally stop. His hand was covered in blood and he walked through the now broken door. Blood had dripped down onto him.

He entered the store and then the lights shoot on. Did this place have a motion sensor on it? If that was the fact there should be an alarm going off anytime now. Hell, an alarm should’ve sounded when he broke that door. Maybe there was a silent alarm and no law enforcement here. That didn’t matter. He approached the cooler that was by the register and of course in front of the register was a bunch of candy bars, energy and protein bars.

“This doesn’t make sense.” Bobby shook his head as he opened up the cooler. He needed something to drink. He looked through the clear glass and noticed some beverages. He blinked. He saw a bottle of Moxie. Moxie existed in this world? He opened the door and grabbed the bottle of moxie. Twisted the cap off of it and chugged and then threw the empty bottle on the ground. He thought he heard some movement in the store. He really hoped it was just a rat or something, he wasn’t in the mood to fight anything or anyone right now.

“I swear there was something here..” something growled from the back of the store. Bobby heard this and walked towards the voice. What could it be? He saw movement by an aisle that was holding some paper towels and cleaning supplies. He blinked, he saw a four foot tall raccoon searching for something. What was this thing looking for? He just stood there and stared at it for a moment or two. He wanted to say something and he didn’t want to be spotted either so he just kept his mouth shut.

The raccoon was talking to himself as one does when they are looking for something. Bobby just stared at the short little creature, it was short and stout and kinda chubby. The ’coon looked like it had seen some things. It was wearing some beaten up clothes with holes in the shirt and pants. Bobby had no clue what this creature was looking for and he wasn’t sure if this creature knew what he was looking for either. It just seemed odd that he gets transferred to a new world and this is the first creature that he bumps into.

“Shit!” The raccoon exclaimed and he then realized something was watching him and this something was rather big. He was only about four feet tall and he then slowly turned around to see a six foot black beer towering over him. A hulking figure, he has never seen this creature before. His eyes went wide and he swallowed hard. Had this creature came to kill him or was he friendly? He has learned that not many creatures in this world were exactly friendly.

He rubbed the back of his head as he looked at the bear. “Now where the hell did you come from?” Be nice to the giant bear and he won’t eat you.

Bobby shook his head as he looked at the raccoon and he didn’t know where he was or how he got here. He was assuming that the raccoon might know where here was but he wasn’t betting on that. He blinked and looked at the small creature. Again, he was assuming that this creature thought he was gonna eat him and that wasn’t going to happen.

“I don’t know where here is.” He felt a bit stupid when he said that. This felt like a dream to him, he had been transported to the gameworld from the real world and he assumed that he had been transported from the gameworld to wherever here was. He was assuming that this was an extension of the gameworld, just another universe. There was a multiverse theory that all universes were connected like a seat of doors. You open one door, walk through it and boom your in another world.

The raccoon laughed nervously. “That makes two of us.” He blinked as he looked up at the bear. “Name’s Robby. I was just here looking for food and supplies when I bumped into you.”

Bobby looked down at the small creature and forced a smile. “Bobby..” He paused. “Which is short for Robert, thats a whole other story I might tell ya.”

Robby laughed. “You know if you were born in the 1980’s probably a common name.”

They both laughed for a minute and then the laughter stopped as they felt like they were being watched.

Bobby looked towards a corner of the store. “You get that feeling a lot here?” He turned to look towards Robby.

Robby nodded. “Yeah. It feels like I’m in a television show and I’m being watched by a ton of people.”

it was a weird feeling and Robby didn’t like that. He felt like there were going to be a bunch of bad guys showing up and trying to beat him down for some shit that he didn’t have. He did have a six foot black bear on his side right now. There was a weird energy coming off of Bobby, like it felt like they were the same person but from different universes. That’s wild, really frigging wild. He could hear foot steps approaching the store. Maybe another break in or something. Robby looked over to Bobby.

“I think we should haul some ass.” He could hear his mother and grandmother in his head scolding him for cussing. That didn’t really matter now. They weren’t in this world and he doubted that he’d ever see them again. The foot steps were getting closer and Robby could hear some glass being broken and that alerted Bobby.

Bobby growled. “I’m not in the mood to fight and I hurt myself trying to get in here.” He looked over to Robby. “Is there a back way out of here? It’s a store. There has to be a back entrance somewhere.”

Robby nodded. “Probably near the rest rooms.”

Bobby grinned. “Of course.”

Robby and Bobby walked towards the rest rooms as they heard the foot steps getting closer and then they heard a door open and luckily they found a back door. It was stuck. Bobby with all of his brute force and might kicked the door open, it popped off of its hinges and then fell over and they walked out ontop of the door. It was very anticlimactic. Both of them looked around and scanned the area.

Bobby looked over at Robby. “Should we venture deeper into the town?”

Robby nodded. “Yeah, might have some answers on where we are. This store is at the edge of the town. I’ve been here only for a few moments. I know it feels like a fever dream, it probably isn’t. “ he paused for a moment. He read about stuff like this in Terry Pratchet or Neil Gaiman books. He was sure he had ventured into another universe, he wasn’t sure how he got here though.

Bobby looked at Robby. “What’s your gut telling you?” This is something he would often ask his sister, Jasmine on their adventures in gameworld. She would come up with a witty response and she was the one with the best decision making skills. He liked to run into trouble. Guess that was just him.

Robby let out a laugh. “That we ain’t in Kansas no more.” That was such a bullshit line when it came to situations like this. It was true. He was a gamer and slightly resourceful. He should be able to get through here pretty easily. That is if this was a gameworld, this just might be an alternate world. There might not be any video game creatures here. Now if that was true why did he end up looking like Rocket Raccoon?

Bobby smirked and shook his head. “This is a normal day for me. “ He looked into the town in the distance. It was a bit hazy like he was trying to focus on it. They needed to get into the town and he really was wondering what those foot steps he had heard before were. Could it just be other creatures trying to find supplies so they could survive as well? He wasn’t ready to pick any fights right now. Maybe later.
