Chapter 1
"Jesus!" I gasped as the sky echoed an ear-shattering roar that is now turning greyish black, resembling the color of my iris. If someone passing by; could see my eyes, they would believe that my iris is made up of mirror as it reflecting the deepest colors of sky.
The trees that had stood tall, displaying bravery, fearlessness, and power behind me, were now bowing in front of my feet as the wind began to blow erratically, appearing to be a warning of the impending storm in the night. The wind has now blown away everything that was lying on the street, leaving me with a clear and orderly route, creating a neat and tidy path for me to walk. In just a few seconds, I saw flashes in the clouds and immediately closed my eyes and muffled my ears with my hands. A loud and terrifying sound was heard after a long pause of five seconds. Seriously god.....
I slowly opened my eyes to greet the sky above me. A whole minute of me staring at the pitch-black sky that is now so dark, a lot shades darker than my eyes, so ominous, and so gloomy, it's like looking at the black ocean upside down, creating its cyclone.
Everything about this night is terrifying; anybody could pee in his pants right now if he or she were standing where I am. For most people, the vista would be frightening, but for me, this is my place of serenity.....The view is frightening, but for me, this is my tranquilly.
Lost in my own little paradise, I completely forgot that I was running late for my night work. as soon as it hit me I began to run, hoping that my fat ass horrible boss wouldn't cut my already low paid salary. . And by this memories of this morning start occupying my mind.
I went for an interview today recommended by my best friendâs boyfriend. Well, to be honest I donât like that guy. Donât know What on earth jess saw in him. We asked him zillions of questions about the job designation but guess what he didnât tell us, bastard. Sometimes my instinct tells me that this guy is a bad influence which was proved this morning.
As I entered the buildingâor should I say bar??? what the heck!! âI saw women sitting on men's laps, with their tongues dangling down the mensâ throats , wearing see-through dresses that barely covered their not so appealing breast. Some were grinding their round ass against them. I was so terrified, furious and angry as feeling of being in a situation where my innocence could easily destroy. As soon as scene in front my eyes began to sink in, I hurriedly lifted my foot to leave that place. I hardly took a few steps just when an awful, hairy, fat palm grabbed my weak hands. Adreline starts rushing over me.
I lifted my eyes and saw a man in his fortyâs wearing a creepy smile looking hungrily at me, not in my eyes but at my breast. I felt so humiliated. I scream my lungs out and call for help, but who am I kidding? No one is here to help me, but everyone is here who would be pleased to see my defenceless, naked body laying beneath this man. I firmly closed my eyes as tears started to form in them. His hold on my wrist tightened, and I felt my body being dragged on the floor. I tried to kick him in his hideous ass, punch him, hit him with my small fists, and scratch him, but nothing worked. I still felt my body dragging. I tried⊠I tried my best. Thatâs it. This is my fate: abandoned by my father at the age of twelve, lost my mother due to depression, betrayed by my boyfriend because I wasnât ready to sleep with him, so he slept with my ex-best friend, and spent countless nights sleeping on an empty stomach. And now this.
"Bang". A loud noise shattered my ears drums into pieces. the room was filled with screams and yelling I felt dozen footsteps rushing across the room and then. I was sitting on the floor and didn't dare to open my eyes. Just when their footsteps died away, the room was filled by the silence. so silent that I can hear my heartbeat and my erratic breathing.
After what felt like an eternity, gradually, I adjusted my eyesight to an empty room that was full of half-naked people just a few minutes before. I didn't realize how long and where the man who was pulling me away had vanished.so stunned by the incident, it took me couple of minutes to stand. My cheeks were drenched with tears, my neatly styled hair had become a mess, and my white shirt was stained with crimson color.
âPing.â I flinch at my phone notification that bring me out from bubble of my flashback. I chuckle at my reaction. You gotta be stronger, Autumn.... after todayâs incident atleast. I saw a message from work informing that the cafĂ© was closed due to the severe weather just as when I was about to reach it. Ugh!!!! Life!
While heading back to home, I felt a pair of eyes bore into my back, but the moment I turned my head, no one was there. But still i felt the weight of eyes on me following the entire time.
