Prologue
I was waiting impatiently for my best friend to return from the military. He was gone for two years and I couldn't wait to see him. Alex was my long-time best friend because he was there for me when no one else was.And I was there for him when his parents died. We met in our senior year of high school. My family moved there for my dad's work."Lavender calm down". My dad attempted to calm me down as I bounced from joy and anticipation flowing through my veins 'Sorry dad I missed him so so much". He finally walked in, and he had changed, his figure was much more muscular, his silky hair perfectly slicked back. For a moment I was in a complete trance until I heard a low, soft, toned, comforting voice " Viola!' Alex sounded like a kid on Christmas. It made me feel warm knowing he missed me. He ran and lifted me up. At that moment, I never wanted him to leave again.
