INTRODUCTION(BACKGROUND OF CHARACTERS A.K.A BASE FOR THE STORY)
Hey, let me introduce you to my incredible family, the Bennetts, led by none other than my husband, the one and only Logan James Bennett. We’ve been on this journey together for a whopping 18 years, and it’s been an exhilarating ride filled with love, laughter, and, well, a generous sprinkling of teenage chaos.
Logan, my amazing CEO husband, is a powerhouse in the business world. He’s got that sharp business mind, but beneath that CEO exterior beats a heart that melts for his family.
As for me, I’m Mrs. Sophia Bennett, his partner in crime for nearly two decades. From a whirlwind love affair, we’ve built a life together that revolves around our bustling household, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Now, let’s talk about our remarkable trio of kids. First up, we have the 16-year-old twins, Ethan and Mason Bennett. Trust me when I say they’ve got a knack for finding themselves in the most amusing predicaments. They keep our family dynamic buzzing with their charming antics.
And then there’s the youngest member of our Bennett clan, our six-year-old Aria Bennett. With her boundless curiosity, infectious giggles, and endless wonder, she brings an endless supply of innocence and joy to our lives.
So, get ready to embark on an adventure with the Bennett family, where love, laughter, and a few surprises are always on the menu, and where our CEO dad leads us through the ups and downs of life with his trademark charm and determination.
I was in the kitchen, the delightful aroma of sizzling bacon filling the air as I hummed along to the songs playing through my headphones. Breakfast was well underway, and my family was in for a treat. I had a pan of fluffy scrambled eggs cooking on one burner, while crispy bacon strips sizzled in another. A stack of golden pancakes waited their turn on a nearby plate.
The blaring alarm clock interrupted my culinary symphony, and I quickly turned off the stove. It was 7 a.m., time to rouse my twin sons, Ethan Bennett and Mason Bennett who were 16 years old.
I made my way to their room and gently drew back the curtains, allowing the morning sun to stream in. The twins groaned and protested, “Mom, please.”
I couldn’t relent today.“No, it’s already 7, and we can’t afford to repeat yesterday’s tardiness. Time to rise and shine, boys.”
“But, Mom, we don’t want to go to school,” Ethan grumbled.
Curiosity and concern etched across my face as I asked, “Why not?”
“Well, actually, yesterday was terrible,” Mason said.
As Ethan descended from his bunk bed and plopped down on Mason's bed, he gestured for me to join them. I settled on the floor, crossing my legs, and watched as they exchanged furtive glances.
“So, spill the beans, boys,” I prodded with a curious and concerned expression.“Is there something bothering you two? Anything you want to share?”
“First, we were late, so the teacher scolded us. Second, we had a surprise class test that we hadn’t studied for because of the swimming tournament. And third, we accidentally broke our teacher’s car window, the same teacher who gave us the low test scores. So, they told us not to bother coming to school, and they’d call you and Dad.” Mason said.
I sighed deeply, a moment of silence hanging in the air.“I understand you were late and unprepared for the test. But what about deliberately breaking the car window?”I questioned, giving them a stern look.
“Okay, we admit it,” Ethan finally confessed.“Our teacher unfairly cut our marks when we had given correct answers.”Mason added.
“So, you thought breaking the car window was the solution?”I asked, my tone laced with disappointment.
“We’re sorry,” they both mumbled.
“You should be apologizing, but not to me,” I asserted firmly.“Apologize to your teacher and find out where you made mistakes in the test.”
“But, Mom, we really don’t want to go to school,” they pleaded.
“We’ll discuss this later. For now, get up, freshen up, and come to the breakfast table in 15 minutes,” I instructed before leaving their room. I made my way to my 6-year-old daughter Aria’s room. After waking her up and helping her get ready for school, I said, “Aria, sweetheart, it’s time to go upstairs and wake up your dad.”
“Yesh, Mommy!”Aria replied enthusiastically, giving me an adorable thumbs-up before bounding upstairs.“Don’t worry, Mommy, I’ll be careful!”She called back as she hurried away. I chuckled at her exuberance and then headed to the kitchen to continue cooking breakfast for the family.
“I guess Mom will still send us to school,” Mason sighed.
“Yeah, I think so too,” Ethan replied, their conversation continuing as they descended the stairs.
“Did you tell Dad about this?”Ethan asked.
“No, not yet,” Mason replied.“He’ll surely scold us a lot. He’s strict about these matters, and besides, he was late yesterday, so we were still sleeping.”
As they talked, they spotted Aria on the couch surrounded by dolls and stuffed toys.
“What are you doing, little Aria?” Ethan inquired with a smile, pinching her cheeks playfully.
“I’m playing with them and showing them my new balloon,” Aria explained happily.
“Oh, really? Show us too!” Ethan and Mason chimed in, their curiosity piqued.
Aria gladly complied, displaying the condom with a proud smile.“This is really big! I’ve never seen such a big, transparent balloon before,” she exclaimed, causing both boys to widen their eyes and almost choke on their words.
“W-where did you f-find this?” they asked, their surprise evident.
“In Mommy and Daddy’s room,” Aria innocently revealed.
Mason couldn’t help but mutter to Ethan, “Our unholy parents.”They exchanged uncertain glances, unsure of how to handle the situation.
“A-Aria, sweetie, just-just g-give it to us,” Mason stammered, and Ethan added, “Yes, dear, it’s not something to play with.”
“Why not?”Aria, still innocent and naive, asked.
Mason tried to explain, “Because, you see, this is not what you think. It’s used for... ahhh!”
Before he could finish, Mason let out a small shout, and Ethan glared at him, delivering a light slap to his hand. He whispered through gritted teeth, “Stop it. You should have explained it in the biology class instead of here.”
Mason nervously smiled, and they both turned to Aria.“Aria, sissy, please give it to us,” Ethan requested.
Aria hesitated but ultimately replied, “No, this one’s mine.”
With a sigh, Ethan looked at Mason, who nodded in agreement. They whispered, “One, two, three,” and then dashed towards Aria, who giggled and shouted and ran around the house with the used condom in her hand. After a chase, they finally caught her and were about to retrieve the used condom from her hand, but she cried.
Upon hearing Aria’s distressed cries, I quickly rushed into the hall to find her in tears. I picked her up gently, cradling her in my arms, and sat down on the couch. Tenderly, I asked her, “What happened, sweetie? Why are you crying huh?”She buried her face in my chest as I stroked her hair, trying to comfort her.
Turning my attention to Mason and Ethan, I asked, “Would you guys like to explain this?”They exchanged uneasy glances, hesitating to speak.“Mom, she was umm running around,” Mason stammered. Aria, still teary-eyed, chimed in, “I found a balloon, and they were taking it away.”Her tears welled up again.
Mason leaned in to whisper, “Mom, it’s not really a balloon.”
With a soft smile, I asked Aria, “Baby, can you show Mommy what it is?”
Aria, still clutching the transparent object, lifted it closer to my face. My eyes widened in shock as I realized exactly what it was. I turned to look at Mason and Ethan, who were both beet-red and clearly uncomfortable, looking here and there.
My face turned all shades of red, and embarrassment washed over me. I couldn’t help but mentally facepalm and curse both myself and Benett. Seriously, how could he forget something like this?
Taking a deep breath, I tried to maintain my composure.“Thank you, sweetie,” I said to Aria, gently taking the object from her hand.“You’re such a good girl.”I glanced at Mason and Ethan, who avoided my gaze.
I guided Aria to the sink and carefully washed her hands, making sure she was distracted by the running water. Meanwhile, I wrapped the condom in several layers of newspaper before discarding it. Afterward, I washed my own hands thoroughly.
As we all settled down at the dining table, Aria still appeared somewhat downcast. I tried to cheer her up, understanding that she had innocently mistaken something she found in our bedroom for a balloon.
“Aria, sweetheart,” I said gently, “Mommy will buy you a big balloon, okay?”I hoped to brighten her mood, but she remained silent, her gaze fixed on her plate.
It was clear that she was still processing what had happened and felt a bit sad.
“Yeah, take those papers too from my office for today’s meeting and call Miss Clara. I’ll be back in a while,” I overheard Benett talking to his secretary, Mr. Smith. They had an important meeting, and Mr. Smith had come to collect the necessary files.
Benett was adjusting his Rolex watch and carrying his coat in his arms. He was dressed in blue checkered pants, a crisp white shirt, and a blue tie. When Mr. Smith noticed me, he nodded respectfully, and I returned a polite smile as he left.
Benett took his seat at the head of the table, with Ethan and Mason on his left side and Aria and me on his right. He finally looked up, smiling as he greeted, “Morning, guys.”His eyes lingered on me, and I smiled back, feeling a bit awkward. I couldn’t quite make proper eye contact, and an uncomfortable silence settled over the room.
Benett turned his attention to Aria, who hadn’t been talking much.“Sweetheart, what’s wrong?” he inquired, his concern evident.
Aria looked up with sad eyes and replied, “They all took my balloon.”Benett shifted his chair closer to hers and lifted her onto his lap, feeding her as he asked, “Now, tell me, who made you sad?”
“They did,” Aria pouted, pointing to her brothers and me.
Benett raised an eyebrow, his gaze moving between the boys and me. Ethan and Mason watched me closely, waiting for my response. I tried to avoid their gaze, looking down at my plate.“Aria, we’ll buy you a big new one, okay?”I suggested." A beautiful balloon.”
Benett added, “Yes, sweetie, we’ll get you many more. Perhaps even better than the one you had.”
As I took a bite of my food, I choked on it, and Ethan quickly passed me a glass of water. Benett continued to make Aria laugh, tickling her and lifting her spirits.
Just as we were enjoying a moment of levity, the driver reminded us, “Ma’am, it’s time for Ethan and Mason to leave for school.”He bowed slightly and looked at me.
The boys glanced at me with their pleading, doe eyes, just like their father’s, and my heart wavered.“They won’t be going to school today,” I declared, causing the driver to nod and leave.
“But why?”Benett inquired, his tone stern.
The boys looked at me, and I could see the fear in their eyes. Benett had always been strict when it came to matters like this. They were clearly concerned that he would scold them.
“They... they aren’t feeling well,” I stammered, and Benett fixed me with a glare. I gulped, knowing I wasn’t very good at lying.
“What?”I asked with an awkward smile.
He turned his attention to the boys, who had lowered their heads. Benett pressed further, “Is this the real reason, or is there something else you think I’m unaware of?”
We all looked up at him, apprehensive. “Is It about the test, being late, and especially the incident with the car window,” he stated, casually eating his food as the boys stared at me.
Mason and Ethan rose from their seats and bowed slightly.“Dad, we won’t ever do it again. We’re really sorry,” they both said in unison.
Benett hummed thoughtfully.“I’m sorry for supporting them in this matter. I’ve already scolded them for it and plan to inform you later and thought to visit the school after breakfast,” I explained.
Benett turned his gaze back to the twins as he concluded, “Don’t let this happen again.”They nodded and apologized once more before taking their seats. The atmosphere at the table gradually eased as everyone was finished with their meal.
Aria had left for school, and the boys were occupied in their room.
I was in the kitchen, tidying up, when I felt two strong arms wrap around me. I smiled, knowing it was Logan.
“Are you sure you’re not running late?”I teased him.
“Nope,” he replied, nuzzling my neck.“And even if I were, don’t tell me you made me late.”
I chuckled as he kissed my neck, expressing his gratitude for how I handled the situation with the boys.“Thank you for handling that situation with the boys,” he said softly.
I leaned into his embrace and responded, “We’re a team, remember? We handle everything together.”
His lips left a trail of kisses down my neck, and I let out a soft moan.“Benett, the kids are at home today,” I reminded him.
“Don’t worry,” he reassured me.“They’re in their room.”
His hands roamed sensually as he changed the topic.“Last night was amazing.”
I blushed at the memory but then remembered something that had been bothering me. I lightly bumped my elbow into his back, making him feign injury.“Gosh! Why did you hit me?” he protested, still pretending to be hurt.
I rolled my eyes at his dramatics.“You know why,” I replied, my voice filled with a mixture of embarrassment and annoyance.
He looked puzzled, raising an eyebrow.“What are you talking about, baby girl?”
I let out a sigh, feeling my face flush with embarrassment all over again.“The condom,” I said, trying to avoid making eye contact with him.
Benett's realization hit him like a ton of bricks, and he scratched his scalp nervously, admitting his mistake. I hid my face in my hands, cringing at the memory of the awkward situation.
Benett, determined to comfort me, lifted me up by my waist and placed me on the kitchen counter. He positioned himself between my thighs, gently trying to remove my hands from my face. I reluctantly allowed him to unveil my reddened cheeks, my eyes avoiding his intense gaze.
I began to recount the incident to him, recounting how Aria had found the used condom in our bedroom, mistaking it for a balloon. Mason and Ethan had attempted to retrieve it from her, but she had refused, resulting in tears and a rather uncomfortable scene. I sighed, looking down at my hands as I finished explaining.
“It was so embarrassing.” his eyes widened as he listened to my story, and then he burst into laughter. His hearty laughter filled the kitchen, and I couldn’t help but join in, despite my embarrassment.
He lifted me off the counter and pulled me into a warm hug.“Okay, okay, I admit it was a bit funny,” he chuckled.“But I appreciate how you handled it well, and now it’s just a funny family story.”
I couldn’t help but smile at his reassurance.“I suppose you’re right,” I conceded, feeling a sense of relief that we could laugh about it together.
Logan leaned in and kissed me tenderly, his lips brushing against mine.“Besides,” he whispered, “it’s just another adventure in the beautiful chaos of our family.”
As we kissed, I couldn’t help but agree, grateful for the love and laughter that always seemed to find its way into our lives, even in the most unexpected moments.
