Weird day
I can’t exactly skip a day without hearing a lecture from this annoying teacher and how the kids in her class don’t want to listen to the rules when it is time to hang up equipment after training. Annoyed, I sigh and look over at my sister who is eyeing Kyle, one of the most unbearable Alpha’s I know. I lose track of time staring at them.
The teacher see’s this and calls my name “Arrow what is so important that you Decide to ignore my lecture? Whatever it is I hope it means you can have time to talk after class so I can go over it one on one. That also goes for you too, Avery.”
Avery looks caught off guard. The teacher circles around and takes another 5 minutes talking in depth about why it’s important that everything looks the way it was before we got there. I could hear the loud chatter of Kyle and Avery talking. Yet the teacher doesn’t dare to yell at Kyle because of his status. However, this also gives Avery a temporary pass from getting another scolding due to him being close to Kyle.
I look down at my hand twirling my thumbs until I hear a switch in topic. She wants us to pair up to start sparring. I look over at my sister, she smiles but then looks over at Kyle. Her face falls into a slight frown at the corners of her mouth. I know what she wanted, but she and I both know that it wouldn’t be possible. I walk over and tap her shoulder lightly consoling her with my hand on her back. I ask her if she wants to partner up? “Yeah… sure” there was still slight hesitation, but she agreed. My sister is actually one of the best people to do sparring with, she’s really quick and agile. Her punches are on the softer side, but her speed makes up for that. I put my fighting gloves on then put good traction shoes on my feet. I hop up and bounce around preparing myself before I start.
She smiles and gets into a defensive posture but also on her toes to start with quick moves. I get into a more aggressive posture, a strong stance because where I lack in speed I make up for it with strength which is the opposite of my agile sister. I notice before Mrs. B***h says start that Kyle is looking at me with an obvious judgmental smirk. Giving him a death glare I look back at my sister and my face softens then turns into determination.
The shot fires, and as expected my sister Is extremely quick on her feet. She lunges at me going in for a quick swing, I barely miss her as she dives under my legs. I pivot on my left leg, swinging around I swipe at her feet, making her lose balance. I swing my fist aiming for her stomach she quickly blocks it. Losing balance, she falls onto the ground. I do a quick stomp but she slides and jabs me in the back after getting up. I bounce back and grab her elbow in a lock, tightening my grip I side swipe her leg making her fall and giving me the opportunity to hold her pinned down.
She taps out. The class continues going for 3 more rounds. Her winning, me winning, back and forth pretty evenly matched. The teacher calls off class. “Damn, I really need to practice more…” I say to Evelyn trying not to sound defeated “You have gotten better, it was a lot easier to beat you when we were younger!”she nudged me and laughed in a goofy way. I giggled at the weird laugh, side hugged her, then headed off to my change of clothes.
I get dressed and as I am about to leave I hear my name. F**k I almost forgot. I slowly turn around with the teacher looking at me. Of course, seeing Avery trying not to giggle. I really didn’t like him. Being friends with Kyle was enough for me to feel a type of way towards someone, but also having a similar smugness was icing on the cake. I walk up and the teacher spends 10 minutes of straight talking. I looked at the time. Thank god it’s finally over. I walk a ways behind Avery trying my best to keep distance.
We get outside the door, and of course Kyle is standing there. He stops Avery at the door, and of course that stops me as well with being behind Avery. I don’t know if I should try and excuse myself quietly or if I should pass through abruptly. But honestly part of me just wants to stay hidden behind and hope that they don’t notice. Just as I think that… Kyle being a lot taller than Avery sees me being shy and a little timid because of the awkwardness. He puts a hand on Avery’s shoulder and stops the conversation. Avery looking confused moves over and directs his attention to me. Kyle smiles and I back into a wall as he gets closer he puts his arm above my head on the wall and leans in to look me in the eyes. I shudder… why me!?
