Chapters 1-10

Chapter 1

One day, there was a girl named Emma. She was young and scared as a princess. But she wanted to face her fears! She thought long and hard about how to face them and one day… She went to school and her class was going to the forest! She was so excited since the forest was so far away in the middle of the island. She went home and started getting ready.

But her mom said this. “Sweetie be careful. It's so far away. You just have to stick with your class. Got it?” I nodded my head yes and then I went to bed waiting until the day began.

Chapter 2

The next day

I woke up 2 hours before school and started getting ready for the day. I brushed my teeth and washed my face. Then I put on my dress. The forest was a magical place and mostly only light people went there. I felt sad for a second but then I heard a knock on my door.

“Come in,” I said. Then the person came in and smiled at me.

“Your majesty, your food is ready.” I nodded okay and I quickly headed down the stairs. I saw my food and it was pancakes. What a good meal in the morning! I sat down and ate my food. Then I decided to do my hair. But I wondered what animals would be lurking in the forest in the dark?

Chapter 3

I hugged my mom goodbye and left for school. I usually walk. I live close to school. When I got there, I saw the buses. I got on before they left without me. Then I found a seat next to my friends. They were acting pretty weird and I didn't know why. I just ignored how they were acting. Then we stopped and everyone got off. My friends pushed me and I fell. No one saw that but I still didn't have a clue why they were acting this way. I got up and saw them walking away. I quickly caught up with the rest of the class. The teachers told us to be close to them but who would do that right now? You're in a field of beauty and magic! I ran forward and left the rest of the class behind but then..: I ended up in a scary forest. This was the dead dry forest where there stands a dark side class. I looked at them and saw a dark-side kid being annoyed by the class so he ran forward towards me. I was scared. I ran but he caught up and that's how I made my first friend.

Chapter 4

He caught up with me and stopped when he saw me. He quickly said this.

. “Who are you and why are you here?” I was scared but I wanted to know who he was as well so I talked.

“I’m Emma moonlight from the light side. I'm not here to cause any harm. I just walked too far from my class. I’ll go back now.” I stepped back a few steps.

Then he yelled, “Don’t move!” I looked back at him. He said this. “I’m Jackson from the dark side. I'm a prince! Are you a princess?” I nodded my head yes and then we talked together for hours, and then it became dark. He waved goodbye to me and I waved back at him and quickly ran back to the light side forest. I wondered will my teachers notice my disappearance.

Chapter 5

I came back and everyone seemed to be sleeping so I went inside a tent and went to bed wondering what happened while I was gone.

The next morning

I woke up and started getting ready to go back to the light side. I decided to visit Jackson before I left. I walked slowly to the dark side forest and I saw him. I ran over to him and hugged him. He pushed me away. I was confused then he told me something I wasn't ready to hear.

“Emma, we can't be friends. We can't mix…”

I was shocked and then I grabbed his arm and pulled him close to my face. I stared at him not looking away not for a second. I was showing my bad side to him but I didn't care for a second.

“Jackson, you should come with me back to the light side kingdom. That way we can always be friends!” I told him happily.

He shook his head. “It's a bad idea, Emma. But I guess I will. Let's hope that we don't get caught.”

I looked at him, grabbed his arm, and floated into the sky. Light Side people know how to fly but dark side don't. Light Side kids have to walk and use buses. It's safer that way but I flew up! I flew with Jackson back to my castle and ran to tell my mom the news… but will it end the way I want it to end?

Chapter 6

I ran the rest of the way home with Jackson. I went inside, saw my mom, and hugged her. She hugged me back.

“Mommy! Look. This is my new friend Jackson from the Dark Side!” I told her.

She looked at Jackson and gasped. She grabbed my arm and pushed Jackson away. I was confused but never knew my mom would act like this.

“Get out of here Dark Side! You're not welcome in my home.” She yelled at him.

I was about to say something but I kept quiet. Then I saw Jackson bowing and leaving. I was shocked. I didn't say anything to my mother or anyone. Then my mom looked at me. She sighed.

“Sweetie you know the dark and light sides can't be friends. Why did you not listen to me?” She looked at me sadly.

I looked at her carefully but didn't know how to explain. She let go of my arm. I sighed and ran to my bedroom crying. I didn't even look back at my mom. What a way of being rude to her… I sat there crying on my blue bed. I didn't know what to do… I wanted Jackson to be with me but there's no way to do that… so I forgot about him… and decided to move forward.

Chapter 7

As I grew older and older, I learned many useful things. I was 16 now and when I lost my friend Jackson, I was 6. But that was 10 years ago. No need to be sad about that. I walked to school and saw a friend that I made when I was 15. She was very loyal to me and I trust her a lot. Her name is Rose. I saw her when I went inside and she hugged me. I hugged her back.

“How are you, bestie?” She asked.

I looked at her. “I'm doing great. What about you Rose?” I asked her the same question.

“I'm doing amazing! My crush seems to have a crush on me. I have a date with him today. I'm so excited!” She told me.

I felt happy for her since she's just like a sister to me.

“Good for you,” I told her patting her shoulder. She laughed.

“Thanks. But let's get to class now!” She chuckled and grabbed my arm.

I smiled cause she was my best friend who would never leave me.

Chapter 8

We got to class and sat down in our seats. Then we talked about some boring stuff but then we heard the alarm for the dark side people. We hid under desks and behind curtains. I hid with Rose under a desk. We giggled but we still had to be quiet. Then the person from the dark side came in. I peeked through a hole and saw a familiar face. Could that be... No, it can't. I sighed and looked away and then the person left. We all kept quiet. Didn't even move one finger. Then the alarm stopped and we all went home due to this random dark person. I went home and told my mom everything.

“I heard about that. Are you unharmed?” My mom asked me.

“Yes, Mom. I’m fine.” I told her.

She sighed and looked away. “I have bad news for you sweetie.”

“What is it, mom?” I looked at her.

“Your father… he died.” She told me sadly.

I gasped. “What!? Dad’s dead!? What happened, Mom?!”

She sighed. “It’s better if you don't know.”

“Fine.” I ran upstairs. I slammed my door. I sat down on my bed and then heard yelling outside. I looked outside my window and saw something horrible. The light stone was gone…

Chapter 9

I ran downstairs and looked at my mom.

“Mom! The light stone is gone.” I told her.

“What!? That can't be.” She gasped.

“Mom I'm telling you the truth!” I told her.

“Sweetie go outside and figure out what happened to the light shone.” She looked at me.

I nodded okay. I went outside and saw a person not in any mood. I walked up to them.

“Miss, where's the light stone?” I asked her.

She looked up at me and sighed. “I don't know your highness. I was shopping and heard screams and yells. Then I realized that the light stone was gone...” She told me.

“Do you know who possibly could have taken the light stone?” I asked the woman.

“Well… I think the dark side person who came here recently must have taken it.” She told me.

“Is that all you know?” I asked her.

She nodded yes. I sighed and walked away. Then I thought about something that I had to do… but I wondered if I should do it?

Chapter 10

“Sweetie your back.” My mom hugged me.

“Mom… The dark side took the light stone…” I told her.

She gasped. “Oh no. Someone must get it back!”

I sighed… “Mom, I'm going to get the light stone back.”

She gasped again. “No! You can't. It's dangerous.

“Mom, I have no choice. The guards are too scared and you can't go cause you’re the Queen. I'm the only one that has to go. I got this Mom.” I told her.

She sighed. “Go get ready then sweetie.”

I ran upstairs starting to pack. I wondered what was going to happen during the journey to get the light stone back. Then someone knocked on my door and I knew who that was.

“Come on in Rose,” I said.

“Thanks, Jessie. I heard you’re going to get the light stone back.” She said.

I sighed. “Yeah, I am going to.”

“Be careful Jessie! It's a long way from here.”

“I know. Well, I have to get ready. Will you help?”

“Sure…” She sighed.

I knew she was sad by the look on her face. But I needed to get the light stone back. It was my time to do something and not sit around and do nothing. It was time… to do this.
