My car clock read 23:15. I was on my way home from a week away at my friends cabin. I needed the holiday. Working in an office takes it toll eventually.

We swam in the lake, sat and talked for hours around the fire at night. All those cheesy sounding things that kids in a cabin horror movie would do before things got grizzly. This was different, though. It was an adult girlfriend getaway trip. Yes, before you ask we totally went into the hot tub together..

(The three of us that is.) After Anna got out to go to bed, Mari and I stayed a while longer to talk. We started talking about deep subjects including self- discovery. When I left the next night let’s just say it was a holiday full of discovery and transformation.

Driving along the road, steadily trying to keep myself calm. (I do not like driving alone at night) I planned ahead and had my map handy so I wouldn’t get lost.

I notice that the street lights look like glowing halos on either side of the road. I kept driving. I passed through a section of road with only dull, fading lights. They needed to be replaced, I thought out aloud. The road looked like wet tar in the eerie lighting. It left me with a bad vibe. Yawning, I decided to put on some music to keep me awake. I didn’t have any coffee with me unfortunately. To be fair if I did I would not be able to sleep. So probably a good thing. I started blasting some Avenged Sevenfold. That would definitely wake me up. I just needed to get to my hotel for the night, The Nightingale hotel. Luckily for me the map said my route was mostly straight through with a few turns here and there. Speaking of I took a right turn onto Grave road. A few of the street names in this area had really creepy names. It was like the Halloween suburb.
