The Meteorite
In a world full of endless possibilities, FredTheBoss is a guy who somehow always gets himself in trouble. Today’s story is no different, and I’m sure that it will leave some minds blown… Shinpi Village, Where Fred And his friends live, is where today’s story begins. This Village is a small one, and yet it’s full of wonders. Only 50 people live there. The Village has modern houses, shops, and a hot spring where people usually go to relax at the end of the day. FredTheBoss was sitting in the frozen Yoghurt shop, enjoying his favorite mix of vanilla and chocolate with his best friend Mark…
- “So do u have any big plans for Today Fred?”
- “I’m still a bit tired after our last adventure”
- “Haha me too, but adventure is what makes life fun haha”
- “Well you’re not wrong about that Mark”
The two continue to share a laugh when their friend Crystal walks by…
Crystal:“ Hey guys! How’s it going!”
both Fred and Mark shout enthusiastically at the same time:” Crystal! Come, join us!”
Crystal: “Oh! I see we’re having the usual ?”
Fred: “You bet! Nothing better than this, right Mark?”
Mark: “True true. So Crystal how’s the shop? Are you okay running it all by yourself?”
Crystal: “Yeah, it felt weird the first couple of days, but I got the hang of it in no time”
Mark and Fred: “That’s great to hear!”
Crystal: “Well, it’s all thanks to Fred, if it wasn’t for him, I’d probably be sitting at home watching TV “
Fred: “Oh it’s no big deal , besides you guys always have my back , I probably couldn’t do anything without your help. Speaking of which, Mark remember we promised we’d help Ben fix his machine today”
Mark: “You’re right! I guess we should get going then ?”
Crystal: “You guys Be careful out there, if anything happens, call me immediately!”
Fred: “Of course, don’t worry, alright see you later then Crystal “
The two boys then go on their way to Ben’s while Crystal goes to open her shop. Ben’s house isn’t too far from the frozen Yoghurt store, about a three-minute walk from there.
Fred: “Well that was delicious, got to tell you Mark that frozen Yoghurt is Amazing!”
Mark: “Yeah true, huh? What’s that?”
Without any warning, a strange object starts falling down from the sky. It seems to be headed to the center of the village, The two boys look at each other with seriousness in their eyes then rush over to the middle of the village where most of the people would be at this time of day… they manage to get there before the object hits the ground
villager: “Fred! Mark! What is that thing? is it dangerous?”
Fred with a worried look on his face replies:” We don’t know, but everyone better duck, NOW!”
The strange object slams the ground with great impact creating a smokescreen and throwing rubble everywhere… After a few moments the smoke cleared revealing a hole in the ground, with a strange red light coming out of it. Everyone seems to be alright and without a scratch thanks to an energy shield created by Mark.
Mark reassures Fred: “Fred! Everyone is okay! Don’t worry!”
Fred: “Thanks Mark, You’re a life saver, I’m going to check out that weird light, you call Crystal, tell her to come here as soon as possible, who knows what just dropped from the sky, and only one way to find out…”
Mark: “Wait! You shouldn’t get close to it, we don’t know what it is or what it could do!
Fred: “Don’t worry, if anything happens, I know you and Crystal got my back”
Fred grins at Mark then starts approaching the hole, the red light blinded him for a second, but then he looks and sees… a strange red gem… he slowly approaches it…
- “Crystal, it’s me Mark”
- “Yeah, I saw it, I’ll be there in 30 seconds, tell Fred not to do anything reckless in the meantime”
- “Yeah, i tried but… Haha”
Fred starts having this weird feeling, like the gem is calling out to him, like it wants him to approach it and hold it. Fred whilst knowing that there are risks, his curiosity got the better of him, he grabs the gem…Nothing seems to happen at first, but then, some weird red energy starts flowing in Fred’s arm, and the gem…stopped glowing.
Crystal shows up with a worried expression on her face. She yells: “Fred!”
Fred: “Crystal, I’m glad you’re here, this gem I picked it up, and some red energy started flowing inside my arm, then the gem stopped glowing…”
Mark: “I told him not to touch it”
Fred: “Sorry, I couldn’t help it, plus it felt like the gem was calling to me haha”
Crystal: “Guys maybe we should take care of the people first, then we’ll go analyze this rock”
Fred: “right! ahem, everyone don’t be alarmed, so far this piece of jewelry isn’t dangerous, but we will secure it until further notice. Mark, put a shield around me, just in case there’s radiation or something”
Mark: “Okay”
Crystal: “I’ll use my newly gained powers to helps fix this hole
Fred: “Until I discover what that weird energy was, I’ll stay in my cave, in case something happens”
The team then split up, Mark went With Fred so they can observe together, and Crystal needed to stay in the village in case something happened while the boys were absent…After a while the two reached Fred’s cave which was located a bit far from the village, deep inside the island. The cave had a lab inside which was found abandoned when Fred first discovered the cave.
Mark grabs a soda from the fridge, pulls up a chair and sits: “Hmm, so…Fred, about this energy, how did it feel like when it entered your body?”
- “Well it didn’t feel painful that’s for sure, it felt…natural? Like it was a part of me but it also felt a bit warm like I was sitting by a campfi-“
And without a warning, a fire suddenly BURSTS out of Fred’s hand.
Mark: “WOHA”
Fred: “Oh no, MARK HOW DO I TURN THIS FLAMETHROWER OFF?”
- “HOW SHOULD I KNOW? YOU’RE THE ONE THAT TURNED IT ON IN THE FIRST PLACE”
The flame went out on its own, the boys looked at each other with a surprised and confused expression…
Fred: “Sooo, that was weird”
Mark: “Yeah true, actually I think you’re the one who triggered it”
- “I think so too, do You think we should call Crystal? Tell her what happened”
- “Maybe we should figure this out First, the village needs a protector in case another one of these decided to drop”
- “Yeah you’re right, hmm let’s see if I can trigger it again, but this time…no flamethrowers Hahaha”
- “Agreed”
Fred then closes his eyes for a moment…only silence can be heard, Fred then starts thinking of a way to safely trigger these flames…his mind went blank, empty with no thought…Then a red ball of light starts forming in Fred’s head…
Mark: “Nice Fred, You did it!”
A ball of flame has formed in Fred’s hand.
Fred: “I honeslty can’t believe that worked”
- “So how did You trigger it ?”
- “Actually, I did what you did when YOU first got your powers, I emptied my mind and started visualizing what I wanted to happen, and it actually worked”
- “Nice, huh? Hey look! The gem is glowing again!”
- “Ohhh, so the gem must be connected to me now, hmm hey Mark, I think you should try it too, see if it works on multiple people”
Fred then throws the gem to Mark, Mark then closed his eyes and started trying the same thing as Fred did…After a short while nothing seems to happen.
Mark: “As expected, no response from this gem, which is actually a great thing”
Fred: ”Agreed, now we know that it can’t fall into the wrong hands”
- “There is one thing tho”
- “what is it?”
- “we still don’t know technically anything about this rock, like where it came from? Why did the energy flow into You specifically? And so many other questions”
- “Well , what we know is that for NOW the rock is safe, and hey , I finally have powers like You and Crystal, I can now protect everyone including You two, not that You need it anyway”
- “Nah, if it weren’t for You , we wouldn’t have these powers anyway, actually maybe we should head back, see how Crystal’s doing”
- “ You’re right, it’s been like two hours. Let’s go back “
The two then grab some snacks from the fridge and start walking back to the village, the road leading to the cave is full of amazing palm trees, different types of birds and other friendly wild life, the enjoyable sights on this island are undeniable. After a while, the two finally arrive at Crystal’s shop.
Crystal: “Hey guys welcome back! I see you’re not dead yet so that has to be a good sign right? Hahaha “
Fred: “Oh you’re about to be amazed, trust me, can you meet us in the back after you finish?”
- “Alright, I’ll be right there give me a sec”
Crystal finishes up with fixing the customer’s shoes using her powers, then goes to the back to see what the boys have to shower her.
Crystal: “”Okaaay, this better not be another one of your “new frozen Yoghurt flavors that will blow your mind” because pizza flavor killed my tastebuds “”
Fred: “Yeah I admit, that wasn’t the best idea I had in mind Haha. But look what you’re about to see is awesome!”
Fred closes his eyes and starts imagining the red ball of light
Crystal: “So is something supposed to happ-“
Mark: ”just give it a sec, this is still new”
then ball of flame forms in Fred’s hand.
Crystal : “WOAH! How did you? When did you get powers? That gem is related to this isn’t it?”
Fred: “It’s pretty cool isn’t it? Well more like hot but Haha. Soo, what do u think?”
- “The pun? Horrible, don’t do that again. That aside though, these powers, are you sure they’re safe to use?”
Mark: ”Well, for now , we confirmed that only Fred can use these powers, so now he needs to train himself like I did, so he can get more control over these powers.”
Crystal: “I see, can you still use the powers even without the gem?”
Fred: “ Actually no, we tested it out on our way here. It seems that gem has a limited range, the farther I am from it , the weaker my powers feel”
Mark: “Which is good, if he ever loses control, all we have to do is get the gem away from him”
Fred: “Oh come on , I’m sure I’ll be fine, but just to be safe I better start training soon”
Mark: “I can help you with that if you want”
Fred: “It would be great to have someone there to fix the damages, Crystal you want to tag along as well?”
Crystal: “Hang on a sec, before this whole training stuff. You guys haven’t fixed Ben’s machine yet, remember?”
Fred: “Oh right, I forgot, We were so distracted by this meteor stuff that I completely forgot about Ben! Hmm, now that I think about it, it would be easier if helped him out Crystal, your powers ARE perfect for this”
Crystal: “I guess you’re right, but I need You to watch my shop while I’m gone Fred”
Fred: “You got it, don’t worry I’ll stay here till you get back”
- “Oh, and don’t try to fix anything. If a customer shows up, just take what they need fixed and put aside. Write their names and time of arrival in the little book. And makes sure to tell them that I’ll be back soon”
- “Okay, got it”
- “I can’t believe I’m saying this but , ABSOLUTELY NO FIRE!”
- “Yeah yeah, I know, don’t worry. I promise I won’t burn down the shop”
- “good, well I’m off then”
- “ good luck, be careful”
Mark: “ I’m going to the gym, I’ll see you guys tomorrow “
Fred: “ Alright, have fun man. We can leave the training for tomorrow as well, I am getting a bit tired “
- “Alright”
The gang then splits up for now, each with their own stuff to do…After a short while, Crystal arrives at Ben’s house. She knocks on the door
Ben: “Oh hi there Crystal, are the boys okay? Any idea what happened with that gem stuff?“
Crystal: “Oh don’t worry everything turned out to be fine, The gem is not dangerous, Actually Fred sent me here, he said you needed your machine fixed or something?”
- “Yeah, my pizza maker was doing fine, in fact it made my lunch. But for some reason it stopped working. Since Fred brought it, I thought he’d maybe know how to fix it”
- “Oh don’t worry, I’m sure my powers can take care of that”
Crystal then creates giant pink bubble that covers the machine, a few seconds later the machine goes back to its original state, working just like the day Fred brought it.
Ben: “WOAH! You did it Crystal! My machine is fixed, thanks so much
Crystal: “No problem, next time, try cooking some spaghetti instead Hahaha”
- “I hear ya, ever since I got this machine, I don’t try cooking anymore. But hey, can ya blame me Hahaha?”
- “I guess you’re right Haha”
- “So about your powers. You just put stuff in a pink bubble and then they’re fixed?”
- “”It’s a little more complicated than That, My Powers basically turns back time on Stuff, it returns them to their original State or at least the state they were in before they got damaged. The longer they are in the bubble, the more “changes” I fix. So if something is in the bubble for too long, it returns to being the original material, for example machines can go back to being just raw metal”“
- “Ohhh, I think I get it now, well you have to be careful then”
- “Yeah no worries, I can perfectly control it now”
- “Well that’s great to hear. Man, I sure wish I had some kinda power”
- “Well it’s not always a walk in the park. If I mess up even a little, there could be some permanent damages, I could turn a chair back to a tree Hahaha”
- “Haha well we certainly don’t want that. Thanks again for fixing my machine, say hello to the boys for me, would you?”
- “You got it, Alright I guess I’ll see you around”
- “Wait before you go”
Ben then uses his machine to make three pizzas and gives them to Crystal
- “Thanks Ben”
- “ this is my way of thanking you for fixing my machine, make sure to share them with the other two”
- “Will do, alright good bye Ben”
- “Bye Bye”
Crystal heads over to her shop so she can closes up shop and enjoy dinner with her friends…Soon after, she arrives at her shop.
Crystal: “Hey Fred, Guess what I brought!”
Fred: “AWESOME YOU BROUGHT PIZZA! Did you get my favorite?”
- “Of course, the four cheese Pizza, just how you like it. Huh? Where’s Mark?”
- “Oh he went to the gym just after you left”
- “Oh? Cause Ben gave me a pizza for him as well”
- “No worries I can bring it to him on my home”
- “Alright then, did any customer come by while I was gone?”
- “No not really. I guess everyone is doing fine, that’s great to hear isn’t it?”
- “Yeah! Alright then, wait for me at the back. I’ll just close up shop, we’ll eat dinner and then we can go home and have some rest”
- “Agreed”
Crystal then closes the shop then takes the pizza to the back where Fred cleared up to a table so they can eat comfortably
Fred: “Did You get your favorite as well?”
Crystal: “Of course, meat lovers’ pizza ,it’s delicious”
- “Alright then, let’s dig in, I am HUNGRY”
- “You always say that when it’s pizza Haha”
- “That is true”
The two then continue enjoying a quiet dinner. After that the two start walking home
Crystal: “ So today was fun huh?”
Fred: “ I can’t believe I finally have powers, I can barely control myself”
- “Well you better, we don’t want you burning the village down now do we”
- “If I do, we have You to fix it Hahaha”
- “using My powers on the whole village? I’m sure that won’t be hard at all, oh yeah don’t forget to deliver the pizza”
- “No worries, I’ll head over to Mark’s now”
- “Alright, I’ll see you guys tomorrow”
- “good night”
After walking Crystal home, Fred goes to Mark’s house and gives him a call.
Fred: “Hey, Can you come down? I brought you pizza”
Mark: “Oh cool, I’ll be right there”
after a while Mark opens the door.
Fred: ”Here you go man, enjoy”
Mark: “Thanks, I assume you already had one?”
- “Yeah Crystal brought one for each of us”
- “Awesome”
- “Well I guess I’ll see you tomorrow for our training session?”
- “For sure”
- “Alright then good night”
- “good night “
Life is full crazy stuff, and Shinpi village is no different. Today was full of mysteries and adventure for the gang. With the unknown gem and the powers it had inside, it left our characters with a lot of questions in their heads. Will they find the answers to these questions? Or will more questions appear?. Today might be over, but no one knows what tomorrow holds…
