In einer Welt, in der traditionelle Rudel in Harmonie mit der Natur leben, wird Grace als Baby im Wald ausgesetzt und von Hunter's Mutter gefunden und aufgezogen. Sie lebt ein glückliches Leben im ländlichen Harmony-Rudel, bis ein Konflikt im zwischen dem zweiten Bezirk, indem ihr Rudel anführt und dem ersten Bezirk sie zwingt, ihre Aufgabe als Anwältin ihres Rudels anzutreten. Während ihrer Reise in den ersten Bezirk, um mit deren Obersten zu sprechen und zu verhandeln, trifft Grace auf Alex ein Rudelmitglied aus dem gegnerischen Rudel und teilt einen leidenschaftlichen Kuss mit ihm, der ihre Welt und ihre Gefühle erschüttert. Sie kehrt jedoch bereits nach fünf Tage zurück, nachdem der Konflikt gelöst ist und ist hin und her gerissen. Während Grace im Harmony-Rudel willkommen geheißen wird, versucht Venus' Rudel, sie mit dem Alpha Hunter zu verkuppeln, in der Hoffnung, die beiden Rudel enger miteinander zu verbinden und höher an Prestige zu steigen. Anfangs, als die Gestaltwandler, Hexen und Vampire sich vor gut drei Jahrzehnten zeigten, herrschte Entsetzen und Angst in der Welt. Doch die Menschen arrangierten sich schnell mit den Neuheiten, was blieb den Menschen auch schon übrig? Sie schlossen Friedensverträge, irgendwie haben es alle geschafft so zusammen zu leben, als wäre es schon immer so gewesen.
