Chapter 1
"Eleanor and Grace", Mom yelled, "please come inside and wash your hands. It is time for dinner and don't forget to let Ripples know to come in too."
Both girls, yelled at once, "yes Mom"!
As soon as the girls came inside, Grace ran to her mom, saying, "Mom, Eleanor has been eating mud pies". Mom looks up to see both girls covered in mud, but Eleanor distinctively has mud smeared around her mouth.
Mom says, "Eleanor Mary Lallas, what have you to say for yourself"? Eleanor says "Mom", "I didn't do anything, really I didn't."
It was just then, that Ripple comes bounding through his doggie door; covered, in mud from head to paws. Mom let out a huge sigh!
