How I wished I had taken those words back
Dying is such weird concept. There are so many theories and religions that depict death. Was there a heaven or a hell? Is it reincarnation? I’m dead and I don’t even have the answer to it. All I know for sure is that there is darkness and the beaming bright light is a real thing. Points to Hollywood for getting something right for a change. I can feel myself be everywhere and also nowhere at once. It felt like I was just floating down a lazy river of nothingness. I didn’t feel any pain or pleasure just the blankness of a canvas.
I knew I was dead but remembering how I died that’s where the problem lies. Knowing my personality, it was probably something stupid like choking on a piece of steak or tripping down a flight of stairs. I do have my memories and the person I was when I was alive. I was raised in a loving home by a single mother who was my ultimate role model and best friend. My dog, Poncho, who I couldn’t teach him to shake even if my life was on the line. Despite all these beautiful memories, I wasn’t sad or maybe I couldn’t. At least not here...
I guess this is death. This is eternity
How boring...
Oh how I wished I had taken those thoughts back and returned to my beautiful space of nothingness

I love the beginning of your story here, the brain and its thoughts after death. It's not just a narration, but it's a personality. It's an interesting one too. I can't wait to see what you have in store :D
I'm already intrigued by your take on the afterlife and April's journey! Can't wait to see where you take this story.
