Chapter 1
Charlottes POV
“I dont want to fight” I told my dad. He wasnt letting up about our argument about joining in on the rogue war against the packs. I thought it was stupid. Some older Wolves took it upon themself years ago to gather up rogues to take different pack lands. Were we even still considered rogues since we are all in a group?
“It is an honour to fight, i don’t see why you won’t, you’ve been training since you were 12. You are better than most of the fighters” My dad interrupted my thoughts.
“Because i don’t support this, I don’t want to fight, I fight to protect not to take what’s not mine” I told him.
He just rolled his eyes and left my room.
I turned over to my best friend who was sitting on my bed,
“he’s not going to give up Maddie”
“ No he won’t, but i’ll go with you if it comes down to it” Maddie told me
“No, you’ll get hurt. You should leave with the rest of them who are leaving tomorrow, i’ll come and find you when i get back” I said.
She just stared at me while I started to grab some clothes and threw them in a bag.
“Are we still planning on leaving when you get back, What about your dad” Maddie said.
“I’m not going to keep fighting wars that aren’t mine, I’m done after this last one. I’ll slip away and won’t come back home with my dad. He will think I died…right?” i asked her, hoping she could convince me that he would think that.
“No, i doubt it Char”
“Damn, Maddie i thought we could be positive?”
Maddie just giggled, We both knew my dad didn’t care about me except that I was a good fighter, and one of the older wolves who like to be called the Elders took a special interest in me. He would try getting my dad to convince me to be his mate, but he was so old and i was only 20.
Maddie and i saved enough money for her to be able to take a bus to a motel a few hours away. She would stay there for a week until i got there. We then would travel to the coast, we heard that rogues lived peacefully there. It would be a month journey but we had to get there. Maddie was due to have her pup in 2 months, and She needed to be somewhere that we could make a life and support her pup. The father isn’t in the picture anymore. He wasn’t a very nice guy in the end. Once he found out she was pregnant, he went to war and never came back. I told her i would support them when she had the baby. That’s why this plan is so important to us
