Calamity's Control - Storm's POV

All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

Cursed started a series to help me improve my writing, however, as the story deepened, I felt motivated to continue and eventually led to share it. It is focused around a group called The Outsiders. Cursed is split into 4 parts: Life Before follows the lives of the founding characters before The Outsiders was formed. The Raider's Calamity's Control and Vivir's Reign are all sequels to Life Before. This books takes place imminently after Nigthtwing's POV of The Raider's

Backstory

“Time doesn’t wait for anyone”

His tail floated from side to side as he pricked his ears listening to Calamity. Intrigued, he tried to copy Calamity’s movement and technique.

“You’re doing great, Storm!” He praised “Keep it up and you will be a fine warrior,” He signaled his hands indicating him to follow, “Come, let’s get a drink, you must be thirsty after all the training,” He added. Trotting behind, he followed in Calamity’s footsteps until he heard a stream ahead. He bent down, letting his tongue lap up the water before he stood back on his feet.

“Are we done training?” He asked

“For today, but I wanna show you what we’re up against,” He replied. They walked up a hill viewing a small camp of normal humans. Calamity pointed down at the center, “There, that’s who we are up against,”

“If I may, what did they do?” He asked, flattening his ears as he tucked lower against the hill.

“They took something from me, attacked me for no reason, and gave me this scar on my face,” He sensed anger in his tone.

“Why would they do that, and what did they take?” He let out a whine.

“My son,”

Another Half

Heika van Walderveen: I had to get used to the style. It’s a lot of switching and getting back into the story of the characters. Also the different timelines were a bit confusing in the beginning. But once you’re used to it, it’s really quite original. The plot is good, but it’s only book 1 (out of 3), but so far so good...
