Chapter 1

Her chocolate hair unravelled in the wind,

as she sent a beaming smile in my direction,

that could light up even the darkest of souls.

She enveloped me in a warm hug.

As she leaned in,

she sent sweet words into my ears,

making my heart light up with joy.

I loved being her favourite:

It meant that I was special,

that she trusted me,

that she wouldn’t tell me a twisting lie.

she held a steel knife behind her back,

one that was camouflaged,

blind to the naked human eye.

I stood by her even when she told nonsensical stories.

Until my eyes unveiled the lies,

How many twisting lies did she withhold?

She never apologised,

that hurt.

Did her dark black coal heart even care for me or was it all an act in her sick game?
