Love & Destiny - Chapter 1

Emily Francis was a young beautiful girl, with silky long brown hair, who, in her teen year's, fell in love with a young dazzling man, named Jake Hefley, whom, she had known from her childhood. She had genuine feelings for him and has always wondered whether he liked her back or not.

Her parents are well aware that she’s had a crush on him this whole time, but she doesn’t know that they know. Her parents, and Jake’s parents have known each other for a long time. One day, her parents decided to go on a trip to the mountains with Jake’s family, for Emily to get closer to Jake.

The day before the trip, Emily was walking out of her class and spotted Jake. She headed over to talk to him. "Hey, Jake!", she said. As he turned over, her heart began aching. He had bright blue eyes, which she kept staring into. "Earth to Emily?", he said. She startled. "Oh yeah, you're coming for the trip, right?", she asked, with a faint blush. He nodded and walked away.

As he walked away, her sister, Katelin, appeared behind her. "Oi, dork! Ain't you a lil' bit late for math class?", she said. Emily looked at her watch and ran to class, thinking about tomorrow. It was just after school, that she met Jake again.

It was just after school, that she met Jake again. They began talking on their way home, but just like always, he tried to get away. "I've got to go somewhere, I'm sorry. Take care, Emily.", he said before he left.

There was a frown on her face, as she shed a single tear and wiped it. She kept thinking why he tries to leave whenever she's around him. She didn't let that get her down though. She reached home, had a bath, and did her skincare for tomorrow. She was excited! Really excited!

-The Next Day-

It was the next day, the day of the trip. Emily took a shower, brushed her teeth, put the best outfit she could find, did her nails, fixed her hair and put on a cap backwards. She rushed outside with her sister, Katelin, and her and her family were waiting for Jake's family to pick them up in a jeep. "Pretty excited? Hm? Emily?", her dad was subtly teasing her as he could see the blush on her face.

Emily had to get out of her comfort zone, as she didn't really talk to many people, and even if she did, it wouldn't be for long. "Today's gonna be really special.", she thought.

The Jeep arrived. Emily's dad saw a huge smile on Emily, and smiled too, feeling great for her daughter. "Howdy there!", Jake's father said, as he opened the door. Emily hopped in the back, with her sister, and sat close to Jake.

As they began their journey, Emily couldn't fathom what was happening. She felt happy in Jake's company. They even sketched what they saw together. She felt happier than ever. Katelin seemed to not care about the trip, and kept texting her friends.

After a while, they made it to the mountains and parked their car. They hiked up the mountains, with Emily's Mom, taking the lead.

As they got closer to the location where they would set up the tents, the sky began to darken. "Emily, want a water bottle? You look tired.", Jake asked to Emily and she turned back, grabbed the bottle and as she turned, the others were gone.

She began panicking, before Jake calmed her down. "I'll just call them..", he said, as he took out his phone and saw that he had no more battery. "Shit.", he panicked. I took out the map from my bag and showed him where we had to go. I placed the map down and a monkey immediately caught it. "OI! PIECE OF SHIT!", I screamt out loud. "Stay here", Jake told me. He ran after the monkey.

"Don't worry, I'll find you!" He shouted out. I had no hope, other than to trust him and wait. I laid down on the ground, and smiled. I was alone with him for a while, and couldn't stop thinking about him. My heart was aching, and my brain was full of thoughts. I shed a tear of joy, and stared off into the sky. Today is special, he isn't trying to leave my side.

After a while, I began falling asleep as I heard a voice, "Sleepy much?", Jake said as he appeared infront of me. I jumped into his arms and hugged him tight, "I thought you wouldn't make it back!", I screamt. I immediately backed off and started blushing. "Of course I'd come back, and I'm pretty the sure the others lit a fire for us to find them.", he said in a gentle voice.

He pointed at the fire, and we walked there together. After a long walk, we finally found them. Our parents were glad and hugged us. We all took a moment's rest and set up camp at the location. Katelin didn't really seem to care whether we were lost or not. I set up my camp near Jake's, and we set up a campfire.

Jake's dad had caught some fish before we all came to the mountains, and had freezed them. He took them out and we began roasting it near the campfire. Jake got up, and began to sing a song for us.

His voice was beautiful. The tone and the way he sang was just marvelous. I fell in love with it. I kept admiring and staring at him. He caught me smiling and smiled back.

After he finished, he sat down and asked how was it. "It was great", I responded. Our parents began to talk about business, and as usual, my sister was on her phone, texting. I, and Jake were just staring into the stars. We began sketching each other, and had a ton of fun. At last, I started feeling sleepy, and miraculously, fell asleep on his warm shoulders.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...

Sharda: I really enjoyed the pace of this story. It was mostly realistic, but It was tough to wrap my head around that a 13-year-old boy would be so intuitive and a friend to his mom. My 13-year-old daughter is super smart and says I am her best friend so I guess it is possible. I struggled because boys usu...
