Forever
When I look back, I feel cretinous.
How was I fooled by your paradisiacal appearance?
Immediately bewitched by your mere presence.
Your promises of forever were short lived and in vain.
Every touch was fueled by power and a thirst for control.
You sank your fangs deep into me.
I never had time to react.
I could never satisfy your hunger.
Tirelessly I gave you everything.
I bled for you.
I filled your chalice with my blood.
Built a crown made from my bones.
The darkness that consumed you was to depleting.
To love you was to suffer.
To need you was my downfall.
Yet i crawled to you, defeated and at your mercy.
But mercy was never delivered.
And when you left, you couldn’t help but smile.
Blood stained on your perfectly white teeth, from taking one last bite of my flesh.
And you leaned in close and whispered.
“Forever, there is no end.”
And like a fool I sat year after year, waiting.
Craving the pain as long it was attached to you.
And here I stay, forever.
