I Want to Live
I want to live.
It sounds almost silly.
Who doesn’t?
Truth is,
Lots of people.
When we hit a rough patch in life,
We think, “It’d be better if I were dead”.
But how do we know that?
What comes next?
What about our families?
What about our friends?
Our hopes and dreams and goals?
What about our legacy? Our mark on Earth to show we were here?
Our lives are stories,
Given to us in chapters.
Don’t write your ending,
Because you finished a chapter.
Write your ending, when you’re gray and old,
With someone you’ve loved forever.
And most importantly,
Die happy, knowing you wanted to live.
