Chapter 1: Hidden Scars

It was a dark stormy night as Marsha tossed and turned in her bed; she was having another nightmare. She continued to struggle until a bolt of lightning woke her up and sent her running into her bathroom. She turned on the light and quickly looked into the mirror at her face before saying "thank god it was just a dream". Marsha was very insecure about herself despite being a beautiful, petite but curvaceous blonde with perfect milky white skin and a smile that could light the night sky. Despite being rich and having everything she ever wanted; it came with a price, one she was still paying for, with her mental health. After splashing her face with water, she climbed back into her bed and fell into a dream which recounted the memories of her freshman year in college...a year that changed her life.

[Flashback: a year ago ]

The sun rose at south turner university as Marsha's limo dropped her off and she waited for her two friends Harper and Victoria. They too were rich and had been introduced to Marsha in her junior year of private school and they had been friends ever since then. Now they were in their 1st year of college and still Marsha felt like she still didn't know much about them as all they did was shop, gossip and gloat about their wealth which most the time was unbearable to Marsha, but she thought to herself "nobody's perfect". When her two friends arrived, Marsha put on her fake smile and headed off to her first class.

The day continued normally until lunchtime when she noticed her purse was missing which sent her into a frenzy, trying to find it as it had her cards and her journal in it...a very private journal, however, her attempts would be futile as someone else had already found and taken it. The person who had found it was Jamie Wilson, a local freshman who had just started this year. Jamie wasn't your average lazy student; instead, Jamie was an above-average student which often got him picked on by the groups of snobby girls. It puzzled him because just about every other girl was always trying to ask him out and he could understand why; standing at 6 feet tall, light-skinned, muscular with curly black hair, girls were always staring and trying to ask him out but to the richer snobby girls he was just another nerd and the only thing cool was the fact that he lived off campus on his own.

Jamie had found the purse as he sat down for his lecture and realized something was caught around his foot and seeing that there were nothing but dudes around him, he figured it was from someone who was in the previous class. Jamie hesitated, before opening the purse and looking for an ID, which he found. It read: Marsha Blackwell and had this beautiful blonde girl with an amazing smile, printed above the name. He sighed and said to himself "fuck it's one of those rich girl's purses". For a minute he considered leaving it and just forgetting this whole thing, but he decided that regardless of who she is, returning her belongings would be the proper and responsible thing to do.

After class ended, he walked outside for his lunch break and met up with his two friends Mike and Ferguson. Ferguson grinned and said "nice purse" before Mike said "I always knew you swung that way" as they both cracked up laughing. Jamie balled his fists and cracked his knuckles which caused his 2 friends to cease laughing. Jamie sat down and said "it's not mines, it belongs to one of those snobby rich girls, and I'm holding onto it until I can return it to her. Ferguson said," Woah which one?" and Jamie said, "her ID said "Marsha Blackwell".

Mike and Ferguson immediately looked at each other and said "damn she's a feisty one... I'd just take what's inside and save the trouble". Jamie frowned at them and said, "no that's dishonest and frankly I wouldn't want that shit to happen to me...what goes around comes back...I'm gonna return it and then walk away, regardless of what she says or does". Ferguson laughed at him and said "well okay dude but I warned you". After lunch and the rest of his classes, Jamie headed out front of the university where he knew the rich kids waited for their limos and began looking for her. It didn't take long for him to spot her beautiful dirty blonde hair, rustling in the wind as she talked on her cell phone.

Jamie walked up to her and said "excuse me miss but you left this in professor Donagen's class so here" before he turned around and walked off. Marsha looked through her purse to find that none of her money had been touched and everything was in place, however before she could say anything her friend said "did that peasant just return your purse?" and Marsha said "yea" in a shocked tone, as harper ran after Jamie and said, "how dare you steal from my friend you dog". Marsha yelled at her and said "he didn't take anything" which caused Harper to pause before saying "keep your hands away from our stuff peasant...can't have your filthy hands ruining our one-of-a-kind stuff". Jamie turned around and walked off after flipping harper the bird and saying "shut the fuck up, if Ms. Blackwell has a problem she has a mouth to express it with".

Harper "yelled "how dare you talk to me like that... your gonna get yours whoever you are". Jamie yelled "the names Jamie Wilson, come find me bitch" before he got in his car and drove off. Marsha giggled at how bold and unphased he was and how he was the first person to not try to take advantage of her in any way. Something about that warmed her heart.
