Chapter 1

“Daddy, I’m your princess!

“Of course, my beautiful girl, you are the most beautiful princess in this world. But princesses wear their seat belts when they go by car.

“I don’t want daddy!” I don’t like to wear a seat belt!

“Come on Eli, princesses are obedient, besides if you don’t wear it there won’t be any cake for your birthday party.”

“Okay, but I want it to be chocolate. ¡Daddy! ¡Daddy! That truck is coming towards us”.

(…)

“Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday little Eli! Happy Birthday to you!”

That song rang in my ears, while I was still asleep. Three voices that I recognized very well, were the ones who sang that melody.

“¡Get up! someone whispered, come on wake up, if you don’t, I’ll wake you up my way, one... two... two and a half and three!”

I feel like a small body falls on me and tries to tickle me, I’m faster and I hug it, letting it fall on the bed and starting my tickling torture. Marcos is my little six-year-old brother, blond, with blue eyes, he has a very tender appearance, but he is a tremendous earthquake, it is as if he made six mini-frames in a single day.

“Enough! Enough! No more tickling. Stop Please!”

My little brother begs, before my torture but I don’t stop.

“Elizabeth Anfield, stop it! I stop and get out of bed.” Come and give me a hug!

And that’s my mother Samantha, a very charismatic woman, she’s also blonde with blue eyes and despite her age, she keeps up very well physically. She’s a vet and I can’t complain, she’s the best mom in the world.

I walk over to her and give her a big hug.

“Who wants chocolate cake?” The last voice you heard behind my mother, is my father Charles Anfield, brown hair, brown eyes, owner of a hardware store, and who dedicates himself, body, and soul to his wife and children. I can’t complain, I don’t have the perfect family, but one who loves me, and I love too.

My parents and brother congratulate me and then leave my room. I have to change because apart from my birthday it is the first day of school.

I walk down to the kitchen, already prepared for my first day of school, I’m wearing blue jeans, black vans, and a pastel pink blouse, my hair is loose and falls on my shoulders.

My mother made my favorite breakfast. Pancakes with honey and a delicious fruit salad with orange juice.

I take the school bus while I check some notifications on my Facebook profile, there are several messages from friends wishing me a Happy Birthday, I answer some comments and then I turn my eyes to the window.

I see the landscape that my eyes travel while the bus is on its way and small memories come to my mind, not pleasant memories for me. Exactly ten years ago my father and I had an accident, an accident that changed my life.

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters. I know it sounds critical, but I have the same problem and I hate it. Overall, it was one of the best stories I've read on here so far. I liked it better than those M...
