"I loved the initial premise, and you got me hooked with the description of the huge "problem" at school, so I found it disconcerting when you shifted to the "shopping clothes with mum" situation (which I felt ran a bit too long). Perhaps all you need to do is work on the progression so as to keep the reader engaged and eager. for more (by chapter 5, you were on a roll). That said, you capture very well the mind of a 10 year old, and I loved the sheer imagination of the story.
