Summary

When Detective Bobby Martins, a brilliant man who a broken heart wants to just take a day or two to just enjoy his surroundings in his nearest hotel room, a murder is shown to the average eye. With Detective Martins on a cause of the killed young man, he must discover a case to reveal the horror of one of for cruelty.

Chapter 1

THE SOUND OF A MODERN ALARMCLOCK GOES OFF AS WE CUT TO THE TIME 7:03AM

A black hand softly hit the button on the top to silence the machine next to the middle-aged man’s bed.

He quickly opens his eyes one at a time and rubs his hands on his short hair buzz sided head and stumble on his jawline.

He then gets out of bed, long shots of putting on blue golf shirt, dark gray pants and white shoes looking in the mirror.

Before leaving his bedroom, he turns back to his bed and sees he was the only one sleeping there and looks down with a heart like a blackhole in his chest.

CUT TO THE MAN IN THE MEDIAN DEPRESSED KITCHEN FINSIHING HIS BREAKFAST OF WAFFLES AND EGGS.

INT. THE SINK DRIPPING AS IF THE MAN WANTED TO BE BOBBING HIS HEAD.

The man hears a buzz on his table not far from him. He then reaches for it.

The man looks at his phone, he sees the name “David” his partner and clears his throat to change is voice for his allie.

DECTECTIVE BOBBY MARTINS

(With an American accent)

Hello?

DAVID (ON THE PHONE)

Still down?


Bobby pauses and lowers his head.


DECTECTIVE BOBBY MARTINS

Is it really that clear?

DAVID

Listen man, I get, but you made your choice. I should never judge you for that. You need a few days off.


Detective Martins grabs the newest paper close to him, he than looks around it to agree with his friend’s idea. He looks around it to see different places that disgust him, but then turns it to the back to see a large yellow square like building, the lights on it some off, some on to show the rooms empty and packed with an ad saying “Opened 2 months ago, five stars all around for the newest Hotel, The Cronus Hotel to be exact.


MARTINS

Are you sure?

DAVID (ON THE PHONE)

You have had enough cases; you’ve seen enough killers. You need to be happy, whatever that means for you.


Bobby looks back at the paper and has a sign of relief.


CUT TO MARTINS PACKING WATERS AND PUTTING HIS PHONE IN HIS POCKET.

EXT. BOBBY GETS IN HIS BLUE CAR, CALMLY TURNS THE KEYS TO START THE VEHICLE AND PULLS OUT OF HIS DRIVEWAY TO SEE THIS PLACE THE PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT.

TREES ZOOM BY WITH THE CAMERA FOLLOWING THE CAR AND BOBBY LOOK AT THE ROAD BUT HIS MIND IS LIKE WAVES CONSTANLY CRASHING OVER AND OVER.

Cut to the car still driving and Martins rubbing his left eye.

Cut to a sky point of view of the car still driving more and more as if the road was endless.

Cut back to the lonely detective back in his car with the camera in front of him.


MARTINS

How does anybody find this place?

Finally, Martins turns his car to the left side as a crossroads and see other vehicles on the other end of the road of his to see The Cronus Hotel.

CUT TO THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL PARKING INFRONT OF THE HOTEL.

Martins gets out of his car and walks up to a man quickly with his joyous steps and colorful suit.

The name had a name tag saying the name Owen where his heart is located, his yellow and purple like at a wedding but with no jacket.


OWEN

Hello Sir, welcome to the Cronus hotel! May I..

Martins abruptly stops the man.

MARTINS

I’m fine.

Owen looks over and sees the car parked.


OWEN

(To himself with confusion) Okay then.


CUT TO MARTINS ENTERING THE SPINNING DOORS INFRONT OF HIM WHILE THE CAMERA STOPS TO FOCUS ON A CROWBAR.

CUT TO MARTINS WALKING IN THE COLORFUL SILVER FLOORS, DARK RED WALLS AND THE WHITE CEILING WITH A SHANDELER SHAPED LIKE AN HOURGLASS WITH LIGHT ON BOTH THE TOP AND BOTTTOM INSIDE IT ON THE MAIN HALLWAY.

As Martins is walking up to the everyone else staying in the hotel.

To his left, He sees an Asian girl with a choppy bob hairstyle of brunette, with black pants and a fuzzy green color jacket relaxing on of the black pretty chairs.

He sees the Owner of the hotel with his perfect combed short blonde hair, a small mustache, his name is Jesse Golding, he is on the phone with someone and is trying to stay calm, but his face is about to turn red and quietly storms into the gender-neutral bathroom.

To his right he sees a black girl, with long dark hair is wearing an orange shirt and white pants. Holding her hands as if she was about to punch someone.

Martins looks over the same area to see a 30-year-old white boy with short brown her, with a black shirt, his sleeves pushed up to show is his shaved arms, leaning on the wall with his back, arms crossed and denim pants.

Martins last looks over to the steps several feet away behind the main desk and sees a man with a shaved head, Latino race age in his 40s glasses, white long-sleeved shirt, white pants, white shoes and the look of a doctor.

As Martins is about to take is final step into the desk and ring the bell Owens, runs over and rushes past behind the desk, while the other people look over to see him run.


OWEN

(Catching his breath) How long will you be staying with us?

MARTINS

(pauses with realization) Are you the only one working here today?

OWEN

Sir would you like a room?

MARTINS

If that’s the case I’m turning around and out of here.

OWEN

Sir please, I understand your frustration, Mr. Golding only wanted me for today. What is your name I will give you room 227.

MARTINS

(looks over the widow with the dark blue and looks back with a sigh)

Bobby Martins.

The girl in the black chair quickly gets up with joy.

HAZEL

Wait? Detective Bobby Martins? THE Detective Martins?

Everyone looks over to see the scene.

Small sounds are heard the bathroom.

MARTINS

Hello.

HAZEL

Hi, are you the guy who solved the forest civilian and the prisoner of the iron bars cases?

MARTINS

Both are true.

Hazel smile with joy.


OWEN

I had a friend who started working at the Ellenward prison after solved the case.

HAZEL

You might as well be a legend, Detective.

MARTINS

(with a tone of wanting the conversation to stop)

I’ll take that room.


Owens give him a medium gold key with an hourglass on the head of it.


OWEN

When your time is up, just give it back my manager...


The bathroom door opens with Golding wiping his head from sweat.

OWEN

Sir! We have a celebrity at the hotel!

JESSE

Oh really! Thats incredible, think of the headlines!! this will be grand this will be exciting! We will start putting polaroid photos on the wall behind you Owens.


Jesse Golding turns his head to see Detective Martins.


JESSE

And who are you?

OWENS

Sir, it’s Detective Martins!

HAZEL

Only the smartest detective on the planet.

JESSE

(With self-doubt)

Really?


THE 30-YEAR-OLD, BLACK GIRL AND THE LATINO ALL SATRT TO WALK AWAY INTO THEIR ROOMS.

HAZEL GOES OVER TO THE NEAREST VENDING MACHINE PUTS TWO QUARTERS IN AND TAKES A BAG OF CHIPS.

JESSE

OKAY, “celebrity detective” if you can solve a case.

JESSE

(Leans over to Martins left ear quietly) What was the name of the killer in the prison and what was I doing in the bathroom.

Martins leans over to the other side of his ear, thought Owens, Hazel and the audience does not hear from martins.

But Jesse Golding back away in shock and immediately responds.

JESSE

Get this man high security and make sure his room is defended if he’s inside.

OWEN

But sir its only me?!

JESSE

Then you watch his room!

OWEN

But you also told me to mop every hallway?

JESSE

I did?

OWENS

YES!!

JESSE

Well than you can do both!

MARTINS

Sir, please I don’t think you should do that, I will be fine on my own...

JESSE

Nonsense, you catch killers, we owe you. Owens will give you everything you need.

OWEN

I will?

JESSE

Do want a paycheck?

OWEN

Right away sir.

Owens runs over to the kitchen.

Hazel moves away so Owens can get through still eating the bag of chips.

JESSE

How long will you be staying?

MARTINS

I wanted just one day.

JESSE

Well, this is going to be fun.

Jesse hits martins should with a friendly vide and walks up the stairs.

MARTINS

(looks over at Hazel)

Is it okay if you take me to my room?

Hazel drops her bag of chips with shock and the bag falls to the ground we cut to Hazel and Martins walking up the stairs and their feet’s follow the camera.

They hit the final step of the second floor.

The camera pans quickly to each room and Hazel checks for Martins rooms.

HAZEL

Let’s see, 230, 229, 228 .... Here we go!

HAZEL

Room 227! Enjoy your stay!

MARTINS

Thank you, Mrs.

HAZEL

Please, call me Hazel, you’re the reason why I wanted to pursue in CIA, criminal justice and detective work.

MARTINS

Word of advice?

HAZEL

Please!

Martins takes a moment to not insult his fan.

MARTINS

Please. Take it. Slow. Okay?

Hazel takes a moment to really understand what he’s saying.

HAZEL

Got it.

Cut to martins taking his key in the lock opening the door.

Cut to each suspect sleeping in the room. The 30-year-old. The black girl, the latino doctor, Jesse sleeping like a big and Hazel sleeping like a feather.

Cut to Martins in his peach like colored room orange walls, white bed, sheets and pillows, he gets blue PJs from his room.

Martin turns to his hourglass shaded lamp pushes a small red button on the bottom of it and turns of the light.

INT. OWENS CLEANING THE FLOOR OF CHIPS WITH A BROOM AND ANGELING IT TO THE TRASH.

EXT. CUT TO OWENS OUTSIDE PUTTING THE BLACK TRASH IN THE TRAGE GREEN CAN AND LIKE CHEETAH AFTER RUNNING A MILE, IS TIRED, EXHAUSTED AND WANT TO SLEEP.

INT. OWENS PUSHES THE SPINNING DOOR OPEN AND IS ABOUT TO TAKE A RED MOP TO CLEAN EVERY FLOOR IN THE HOTEL.

He is about to take a few more steps until.

The lights above him start to flash and flicker.

OWEN

(Quietly to himself) Damn powerlines.

CUT THE INSIDE OF THE ELECTRICAL WIRELINES WITH OWENS HOLDING A SMALL FLASHLIGHT.

He sees that there is nothing wrong and is puzzled.

The light above him start to flicker more and more.

OWEN

What the hell?

The camera turns to Owen looking out in the main hallway with the lights still flickering.

The lights from far to closest turn off quickly.

Owen turns on his flashlight to be the only light in the screen.

OWEN

(With fear) Okay, Mr. Golding that not funny anymore, please knock it off!

OWEN

Sir?

HELLO?

Hello?

Not even a pin drop is heard.

OWEN

Anyon-

Within seconds the lights turn on in reverse order and figure in a black mouthless mask, black gloves, jacket, pants, shoes and hood jumps at Owen hits him with the same crowbar as before scaring the audience.

Owen falls to the ground with blood spiting on of his mouth and a scar on his nose. The figure stomps on his crotch. Owen Doesn’t scream for he does not know who is doing this do him.

The person raise is arm with the crowbar and hits Owen.

Once in the chest.

Once in the shoulder.

Once in the head.

Cut to a far angle of the figure beating Owen more and more with the final hit cutting away to the morning.

EXT. OF THE CRONUS HOTEL

INT. OF HAZEL’S ROOM

She open the door leaves her room.

The rest of the people in the hotel open their doors after her.

Hazel walks down the stair normal but we cut away to Martins still sleeping in his bed as we her Hazel scream from the main hallway.

Martins opens his eyes and we cut to him is in blue golf shirt and rushing down the steps to see Hazel sitting down with fear and Jesse Golding looking over the body of his employee.

Jesse puts a white sheet over Owen’s body and Martins slowly walks up to him.

MARTINS

How did he die?

JESSE

He must have been beaten.

MARTINS

Crowbar.

JESSE

You saw the body for only a moment who could you kn-

MARTINS

If the killer wanted to use his hands or a bullet he would have done so.

JESSE

Ok, you, me.

(Points to Hazel) Her. And Only three other people in this place.

MARTINS

So, let’s get them.

Cut to the boy, girl and doctor all sitting in the main hallway.

The doctor looks over to the boy.

DR. STANLEY ERNESTT

Why did you come here?

The boy looks over with his arms cross but put them down to relax.

MARK ALLEN

To escape.

DR. STANLEY ERNESTT

(Looks at the girl)

And you?

KELLY BOHNSON

My family always told me not to talk to strangers.

Mark begins to walk over to the moving doors.

MARK

Well, if that’s the case then we should just head ho-

The doors automatically close like a jail cell and we cut to ever window and door in the Hotel automatically closing like a hivemind.

MARK

(confusion and shock)

What the?

Stanley, Kelly and Mark all turn around to a shoot of the three looking over to see Martin next to Jesse holding a remote that controls the entire hotel.

MARTINS

An employee has been murdered.

MARTINS

I ask that everyone remains here until the case is solved and the killer is caught.

MARK

Whoa, whoa, whoa wait a minute you’re saving this is place is now a crime scene?!

STANLEY

Sir, I have a family?

Mark looks over to the doctor and to the Detective.

KELLY

Who was killed?

JESSE

My employee, Owen Sarson.

MARK

How did he die?

MARTINS

Beaten.

Hazel enters into frame with white nurse gloves dropping the bloody crowbar to the ground.

MARTINS

It’s interesting the killer used this so make sure the blood matches the walls but he or she did not think about hiding the body.

MARK

(with a smartass tone)

Well, listen “Detective” it sure as hell wasn’t me!

KELLY

(Gets up a takes a fear step back and Stanly on her side with a look of worry)

Thats exactly what a killer would say!

MARK

Oh, for crying out loud!!

MARTINS

How would you know, and you are?

MARK

Mark.

Mark goes to his left pock with left hand on his hip and pulls out a Swiss army knife swinging it around and hitting the table to show it.

Mark points to his knife.


MARK

And if I wanted to attack someone, I would have used that!

MARK

I’m innocent!

MARTINS

For now.

JESSE

Well, Martins I’m going to go for a bit to eat, you handle this case.


Detective Martins takes the remote from Mr. Golding.

MARTINS

I said EVERYONE remains here.

JESSE

(Jesse pauses for a moment)

Are you shitting me right now?

STANLEY

Why you got something to hide, rich man?

JESSE

Martins, I didn’t hurt him you have to believe me.

MARTINS

Sit. With the others. Now.


Jesse in shame walks over to the other three suspects in the shot.


MARTINS

(He looks over to see Hazel)

You as well.

HAZEL

Wait, me? I found out about this morning?!

MARTINS

An obsessed fan can lead to crazy outcomes, with the others please.


Hazel takes of the nurse gloves to and walks over next to Kelly to show the money shot of all are suspects in Detective Martins latest case.

Cut to Bobby’s face.

MARTINS

Welcome to the Cronus Hotel.

Cut to one hour later of Stanley walking in the in the walking,

With different camera angels on the walls, ceiling and front views on Stanley constantly walking looking for the smallest opening to get out.

Cut to the bottom of a shower with water running bubble and soup liquid and blood going down the drain for the killer to hide his or her tracks.

Cut back to Stanley and he turns around with the camera be his point of view to turn to see Detective Martins to scar both him and the viewers.

Martin calms Stanley to tell that Mark was the killer. With his huge IQ, Mark is taken into handcuffs leaving each other suspect go free.
