Prologue
In the short break between serving costumers, I got swept away into my thoughts remembering how my life was much easier and comfy three years ago.
After my mom's death I decided to go out for my own living, leaving the family household to my elder siblings whom didn't appose my decision at all or even tried to hold me back ,that's when I confirmed that for them I wasn't more than a dead weight they finally got rid off...
at first I stayed at the student housing but shortly after it I had to move into a new apartment as my work shifts went against the dormitory curfew, adding to that being expelled from the university due to my repeated absences . I rarely made my way to the local college as I always wanted to go study abroad , a goal that required saving a lot of money...
that's why here I am , a 22yo lady working as a full time waitress and a secondary manager to a fancy cafe leading a borring typical life where I force myself everyday to smile brightly with disrespectful arrogant clients whom make my want and will of leaving this filthy country grow even bigger .
I snapped back to reality at the shouting of my boss to realise it was already dark outside
"Stop spacing out and do your work .Also don't you oversleep and dare coming late tomorrow morning while I'm not here to keep an eye on you !" he said with an accusative tone while leaving the cafe , I slammed the door angrily while mimicking him
" Don't you dare be late ! , As if I ever did you barren ass-"
I immediately lapsed into silence after feeling someone's intense gaze on me , checking the room I noticed It wasn't empty as one remaining client was sitting in the corner , I couldn't clearly see him as the light was dim and his hat was covering half of his face .
I checked the clock to realise I was running late
"Excuse me sir but it's time for us to close the cafe !" I said in a hurry while heading to the backshop to grab my stuff then immediately came back to the main hall after hearing the door creaking..he left !! ?
"what a mannerless guy! Leaving without saying a word,you could at least apologize or pass a greeting" .
I got irritated from such an attitude while I usually deal with worse during my work
" Eugh never mind i must be worn out from this long day only "
And with that I went home.
